Hello everyone.

As you know, Annihilators w/ Lascannon Sponsons are cheaper in the BT Codex than the Normal Marines codex. (There should be a chapter called the Normal Marines.) Anyways, you end up saving about 35 points (145 for twin-lascannon main weapon and lascannon sponsons).

Here's the question:
Using these points, I can give Predators Power of the Machine Spirit. I usually do, as it fits my chapter fluff, but I was wondering if anyone here would or not.

My in favor reasoning:
1) Don't have to pay the 3pts for smoke because you can ALWAYS shoot.
2) Can move 12" to get side shots on enemy armor with main weapon.
3) Recent FAQ made BT PotMS as good as Normal Marines.
4) Can, of course, target a pair of enemies in one phase.

My against reasoning:
1) Expensive. I could get 3/5 of a rhino per predator if I drop this upgrade.
2) Nullifies point advantage over Normal Marine predators in a straight-up armor duel (though with those advantages...)
3) Increases targeting profile for a relatively fragile model.

EDIT: In my haste, I repeatedly stated the points cost of the upgrade; this has been rectified.

I don't know how often you'll move 12" with a Predator. I'd rather have 3 lascannons at the front armor of something as opposed to 1 at the side. Always being able to move and shoot is nice, but on a backfield pillbox tank I don't know how much you'd really want to move. PotMS on a Vindicator, however, seems more useful.

Like Brother SRM said, skip the PotMS on the Predators, but make sure it goes on the Vindicators! It'll make your vindicators even better than blood angel vindi's, which before the FAQ update were arguably the best vindi's in the game.

I don't plan on using Vindicators. So you say it is not worth it on Predators?
