well being a complete noob when it comes to battletech, lacking anything other than a talent to rush in, and doing nothing but mess the paint job on my enemies rides. so stepping back, I have decided to try a different tactic of running to the mid board, having a stand off there for a few turns, and then have a fighting retreat after inflicting as much pain as possible, before the enemy can close to kicking and punching distance.

I prefer playing Clan Mechs(meh, I love the back ground to the Clans, just not some of the actions taken by individuals of the clans). as such my force will be completely built of Omni Mechs, and perhaps Elementals(in urban battles at least, where they can use their JJs to the best effect). also, is it a viable option to have the mechs drop off the elementals as a buffer between themselves and the closing force, to prevent the Sphereoid mechs rolling right to point blank range and kicking the snot out of my mechs? how effective can the Ellies be at countering a mech, and if I do take them, at what G/P should I be taking them?

well now onto the list:

Kit Fox (Bravo)
1088pts

Ice Ferret(Prime)
1529pts

Stormcrow(Prime)
2073pts

Timber Wolf (Prime)
2737pts

Timber Wolf (Bravo)
2224pts

this force would likely be played at a 10,000+pt game, the heavies and the Kit Fox stay together and move as one(making the Kit Fox a less viable target when standing next to the 2 T-wolfs), and the Storm and Ferrert acting as my scouts and harassers, zipping out ahead to either spot, or just plain tie down the enemy while the others roll forward. I know it cripples me a little bit, but I think I will start to pick up playing Zellbrigen, at least till one mech is engaged by two foes. any tips and advice is greatly welcomed, also please keep in mind I prefer playing in the 50's tech, and maybe 60(to be able to use 1st Gen Protos), so I really would like to stay away from a good deal of the silliness of the dark age, and the events leading up to it, if at possible.

Would you willingly associate with murderers, rapists, or alien invaders? Tournament Gamers are all of these things! Vicious grasping WAAC scumbags who will stop at nothing to win a game! They'll arrange for your family to be murdered just to distract you enough for them to win! Be warned! Be aware! Shun these foul abominations wherever they may appear!
