So here recently many at my LGS have started to get into Warmachine. Now once upon a time I had thought about getting into a Khador army but unfortunately two people have already delved heavily into them. In addition there are already people playing Cygnar, Cryx and Menoth, leaving Scyrah thus far unrepresented. Seeing as Scyrah as yet has no Battlebox I was wondering if I could get some help making a 15-25 point list.

Well there is an unofficial battle box, but most Ret lists don't use light jacks.

Why don't you pick a caster first and we can build around that.

Pick a warcaster first, it would decide what kind of army you would be building

The unofficial RoS Battlebox is as follows:
Kaelyssa, Night's Whisper (+7)
- Chimera 6
- Griffon 4
- Manticore 8

However, like everyone else has mentioned. I would take a look at all the casters first and then pick one as their spell lists, abilities and feats alter what you should bring with them.

Actually on that I'm torn between taking Kaelyssa and Ravyn. Ravyn's ability to move herself and Jacks around as well seems rather appealing though Kaelyssa's spell list and ability to steal Focus could make for some fun.

Neither are bad and both are fun to play in their own right.

-Personally I lean towards Ravyn simply because I like having a murder machine for a caster. If all else fails, you can just have your caster beat face.

-That being said there's nothing like plugging Deneghra from 18" away with Kaelyssa or seeing the expression on a Hordes player's face when they realize that 3 fury they camped will only mean one transfer.

Ravyn tends to be better in assassinations since her feat means pretty much anything with a ranged attack can kill enemy casters (or she can just stab them), while Kaelyssa is usually better when playing to scenarios using her feat to apply pressure and prevent any kind of effective response as you overrun scoring zones.

Well I guess I'm going to go with Ravyn after looking at the Themed Forces rules. And looking at them I guess I already have an outline that I should/could build for.

If your talking about Ravyn's Tier don't bother. Its beifits are good but you don't want that many MHSF units.

Well I'm still liking her none the less.

No one is saying Ravyn is bad, far from it in fact. It's just that Retribution tiers are nothing to gawk at really. I've heard Vyro's new one is rather nice, but the majority are just far too limiting when you consider the options you exclude.

I can understand that. I don't suppose you have any recommendations for units/jacks I should invest in. Around here no one really invests in anything other than Jacks so I was still thinking of getting one MHSF unit but beyond that I'm not really sure.

They kill a little more than jacks, actually with Ravyn, they pretty much win games REF: Snipe-Feat-Go

Moving on though, if you're going Ravyn, Discordia is a good investment. The Spray and Ravyn's feat on top of an imprint that can be used to keep the MHSF safe from blast damage is very useful and she fights pretty hard as well. Eiryss, Angel of Retribution is always a good choice even in non-Retribution armies, but when she benfits from Ravyn's feat as well she's about as close to an auto-inlcude as you get. There's plenty more that's good, but those are some basics to start out with.

Well I guess I have something resembling a direction now so I thank you all for helping me. Additional ideas are still welcome however.

A surefire sign that none of them played MkI lol
Jokes aside, Dawnguard Invictors are also pretty cool with Ravyn as are Stormfall Archers, honestly Ret has a lot of shooty stuff and Ravyn can work with a lot of them.
Aiyana and Holt is a good investment, kiss of Lyliss is great and while our jacks have magical range attacks its always nice to have more against Menoth/Cryx.
Also the Mage Hunter Assassin, those guys go with any casters.

Look under the Mercenary units, Aiyana and Holt form a unit of two models.
