I've been fiddling with a Dark Angels army list myself.

Are you planning to walk or Deep Strike in? If you want to Deep Strike (which I'd say are the Deathwing's main thing) then I'd try and work in a Teleport Homer somewhere. That would involve removing either the Dreadnought or a couple of Land Speeders and getting a nice basic Ravenwing Squad. This way at least you know you have a good chance of deep striking a Deathwing Squad onto an objective early on in the game, or else in a significant part of the Battlefield or launching an early assault upon a weak point in your enemy's line.

1,000pts is tricky when you use Terminators as Troops as you know all they need to do is kill 3 in each squad to draw most games

I think you've gone for a sensible approach with the Deathwing Squads, being able to engage all kinds, but the danger will always be that those equipped without Storm Shields will be susceptible to Plasma, Melta, Power Weapons, Rending etc. Personally I'd drop the chainfists. It's unlikely you'll meet an AV14 vehicle in a thousand points and you already have 3 Multi-meltas/Typhoons & 2 Cyclones for anti-tank, not to mention the Dreads Plasma Cannon for transports as well. Drop the chainfists and give them TH/SS as your main concern will be objective camping, survival and counter attack tactics. If you can squeeze it in I'd go for a Missile Launcher on the Dread as well, it's my favourite loadout at the moment

If you're worried about Infantry Hordes then give the Terminators Heavy Flamers instead.

That said I think you have enough firepower/staying power to cause most small armies problems.

Thanks for the advice, I was not planning on deepstriking.
90% of the time I'll be foot slogging those termies and getting missile shots down field from turn 1.So the need for ravenwing I think is diminished.

The chainfists were a suggestion from dakka just incase i run into any dreadnoughts/soulgrinders/ironclads, they can also be helpful opening up tanks. Im more worried about dreads being able to tie up my exspensive scoring units rather than using them for offensive duties

With the way I've armed the DW squads, units firing on me will have to cause more then 2 ap 2 wounds before I have to allocate them to the non SS armed termies, which would be the same even If I had another TH/SS in there.

BUT.... I have magnetized all the arms so play testing all the options is something I'll have to look at

The only thing I was really considering was if I should get another unit of deathwing... which would open up some deep strike options but reduce my firepower.

Yeah, I think you'll need that firepower, and it gives your opponent more to shoot at which is never a bad thing. I've never run an all Terminator list myself and would always be worried because whenever I use them they die horribly to Ork Shootas, Bolt Pistols & Frag Missiles

If you're footslogging fair enough - you'll always have the option to Deep Strike anyway. Chainfists are a great option to have, I just think with all those Thunderhammer hits Walkers etc will get it anyway, still beter safe than sorry with so much out there

Well I'll give the chainfists a whirl, only tried them in two games so far, first one I was tabled by a tau list with about 50 fire warriors and the next one was vs a foot slogging chaos list =\..
Needless to say they didnt earn their 5 points back =D
