As the topic suggests, do Dark Eldar roll for Combat Drugs for every unit that has them or only once for the entire army?

I've been hearing contrary things and I'm thinking a local DE Player may be cheating purposely or maybe he doesn't realize.

So do they roll per unit or just once for the army?

Thanks!

I believe its once for the whole army. The old codex might have had you roll unit by unit, but it's been a while since i read it.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Thanks, would a DE player be able to point out the specific page for this? I beat him in last weeks tournament and took the championship, but I'd definitely like to be able to direct him to the page where this is not allowed. He at least keeps track of all the drugs on paper, but it seems really fethed up he was getting 4 diff combat drugs.

A page # from someone or anything I can show, without looking like a d-bag, would be great.

Page 25, right above the table, it specifically says "a dice" and "the effect", meaning you only have to roll once.

Ask him if you can look at his Dark Eldar codex, then go to page 25.
Says there that you roll a dice before deployment.
All units with combat drugs benefit from the effect the entire game.
They all get the same effect.
So 1 roll per army, not per unit.
Just ask casually to see the codex, then you won't be the one to look like a bag.

Thanks guys, that's perfect. I'll just remember page 25.

Always appreciative of how quickly Dakka can field the answers!

If he wasn't cheating with this purposely, I am positive he is going to appreciate not having to do all those rolls. ^.^

One small exception: If you are playing Duke Sliscus, you get two rolls & pick one. But it's still one effect for all those who have combat drugs.
Now, if I can just stop rolling double ones...

I do miss the days of rolling per unit.... it really used to effect how you deployed and what units went after what..... and the old Archons were BEASTS like no other with drug dispensers!!

The codex even specifically explains WHY they just roll once. That the kabal buys in bulk, and this represents whatever was readily-available or in fashion before the battle.

It's a nice piece of fluff to explain a rule, but I'd be having my Haemonculi making Splintermind drugs 24/7,and to HELL with what's "fashionable"

If you were a crazy soul-eating alien drug addict I don't know if your decision process and priorities would be the same as they are now.

Trust me, I have had days where no-one could tell the difference either.
