I have a question that has been bugging me and I want to see what people are seeing in tournaments before I try to make a stand on this issue at my FLGS.

I am wondering what happens to my passengers of skimmers that move flat out when the enemy blows up my skimmer with shooting.

Reading the GW FAQ two things spring to my attention

Q: If a transport vehicle is destroyed in the same turn as it
moved flat out what happens to any embarked models? (p70)
A: They are removed as casualties.

and

Q: What is meant when the term ʻturnʼ is used? (p9)
A: Whenever the word turn is used it means player turn.
Otherwise it will clearly state game turn. In a complete
game turn both players get a player turn. Hence one game
turn will comprise two player turns.

The way im reading this it seems to me that only if my vehicle crashes during my turn would my models be removed. What is your experiance with this in a tournament environment?

Awesome. Awesome to the max.

Your interpretation is correct.

Yendor

That is correct.

I tied a game once because I turbo boosted a Wave Serpent and Fire Dragons to contest my opponents objective. Unfortunately I had to land on difficult terrain so 5/6 chance of contesting his objective and winning the game- of course I roll a 1, and the tank wrecks, and the squad evaporates ._.

So it does happen!

Huh, literally just answered another thread with this.

It's worth noting that the rulebook already defines "turn" as "player turn" (page 9). There is absolutely no way one could correctly argue that the unit inside the transport is destroyed if they destroyed it in their own turn with shooting.

So, rest assured, you can Flat Out move without worry about this being an issue.

It isnt an issue at tournaments, not in my experience. Even prior to the FAQ reinforcing that turn == player turn
