Hey guys ive been working alot on my imperial guard recently and have painted 1500 points worth, just need to re-do the paint job on some of the tanks and stuff.

Anyways i have for a very long time loved Thousand sons space marines, i think they look fantastic. The models and colour scheme is amazing and i would really enjoy painting and modeling them i think.

I was looking for some guidance on a CSM army based around the Thousand sons. I would ideally like to take as many Marines as possible as they are my fave models and the idea of them all marching towards the enemy shrugging off rounds is just too cool.

Im also a fan of dreadnoughts and tanks, bikes as well. Daemons are not really my thing though. Anyone got any inspiration or ideas of a possible 1500 point list??

Well for HQs you could use Daemon Princes, Sorcerers maybe a Lord (although they probably aren't very useful), Elites you could have Terminators, Dreads (FW one is quite nice), maybe Chosen. Troops, 1K sons mainly, although Chaos Space Marines could be an option. Fast, Raptors are your best bet. Heavy, Obliterators (you could probably manage some nice conversions), maybe the other tanks. Its up to you really, depends on your conversion skill as well. I would recommend using Lesser and Greater Daemons though, they are quite effective, and you can make nice lists with them in, but they are by no means necessary, and if you don't like them then i suppose you can make do without.

Rubric Marines are your fluffy friends, to begin with. Anything with some firepower, Obliterators, Tanks, are great. Rhinos are good too, as your marines will be slooooow. HQ about anything with the Mark of Tzeentch is good. Not sure how you could fill a melee requirement, maybe Raptors or Termies, but I do know that Chaos Spawn would be very fluffy additions to a Tzeentch army.

Cheers guys some nice suggestions.

I basically started looking through the codex and thought of a little base to the list.

I want to get as many 1k Sons into the force as possible as obviously they are the whole reason i want to do this as i love the models.

Was thinking possibly

Chaos Sorcerer - Bolt pistol and his usual gear with a psychic power.

3 Squads of 1K sons marines - 1 Sorcerer and 6 Marines in each unit with the Sorcerer have doombolt. That comes to around 750 points for all of those guys and thats with zero Anti tank or transports!!!

Was then thinking a land raider and 5 Chaos termies with chainfists to knock out tanks and take down big beasties.

Another option is to use Chaos space marines in small units too but using the 1K sons models so i can get some more guys on the field.

Leaves me with about 300 points to play with. and i only have 25 models and one of them is a tank ha!
