That being said I have a few questions about your list. Are you wanting for it to stay fluffy, and hilarious? Or are you wanting to make it a bit harder? There is a very shooty Kan wall build that can be made extremely hard.

If I know that it would greatly increase the ability of the community to help you, as we will know what you are looking for.

The kan list sounds interesting. The main reason for all the SAG and dakka is the paladin troop armies that have been surfacing. And the SAG is one of the only AP2 weapons in the Orks arsenal.

The fluff and humour can be exchanged for more effectiveness, so long as the list remains shooty.

This is my shooty Kan wall list.

You play it similar to a normal Kan wall. The lootaz are in the squad sizes they are for leadership purposes.

9 rokkit lancha shots.
122 shoota shots at.
25-75 deffgun shots.

PER TURN

This is really an impressive amount of firepower.

Who says Orks can't shoot?

That is exactly my current 1k list.
You know, minus 500 pts.

I would try to get some looted wagons with boomguns. Just screams shooty.

If you're worried about 2+ armour, you could go the KMB spam route.

2 SAGs, 2 Deffdredds as troops, each with 2 KMBs,

Squads of Deffkoptas with KMBs for Fast Attack

Killa Kans with KMBs for Heavy Support

Elites could be fun with squads of 3 Burnaboyz+3Mekboyz. Shoot'em with your KMBs, assault with Power Weapon Burnas.

I actually enjoy shooty ork armies. The sheer amount of shots is just staggering.

It may be a crime on how much I love lootaz as well.

Yeah, I know. There's a reason all my boyz are Shootas, and it's not the Mathammer.

I remember once, took down all but a single Marine Scout in a single turn's shooting, when they were in cover. With just 20 boyz.

Im not going to lie it started out just as the mathhammer for me, but that many shots has grown on me. In a 750 pt game I obliterated a 10man marine squad in one turn. with my shooty kan wall. The next turn I shot 3 terms down with a squad of boys 17 strong.

with your 12 pts left you could sqeeze in some ammo runts for a re-roll on your scatter with your SAG

That would be pretty nice. Be able to get two for each.

I like it first list all the way, the only thing I would switch is make 2 units of 15 lootas. Put the Big Meks in with the grots too, not the lootas.

They were going to go with the grots, since lootas will probably be aiming to take down low AV and monsterous creatures. Thanks for the ammo runt idea, I usually forget that they exist.

I find that Looted Wagons are too expensive for the semi-reliable blast template that they provide. Also they lose some AP in comparison to a SAG.

I like the idea of a dread mob, but I lack the models, so I'll have to turn that idea down though.

it would be pretty hard to cover 3 units of kans with only one kff mek I think it would be well worth shaving a few lootas to get another

I just saw a thread title "1,500 shooty orks" and it didn't start with 45 Lootas. That made me sad.

I recently ran 45 lootas in a 1k list.
It was devastating to my opponent.

S7 AP4 is all well and good, but 45 lootas wouldbe just a tad overkill in my opinion. The AP can't cut through power armour, and they're not reliable enough to fire on an MEQ unit and expect to inflict enough wounds to have a real effect on the target.
The SAG gives them (hopefully) the AP2, the boyz give them the bodies, the grots give the SAG's bubblewrap, and the buggies give the orks side shots and screening. 45 lootas may be the defining element of ork shooting, but I'm not sure that you want 45 of them in a 1,500 list.

Just how many shots (of any Str or AP) could you get out of a 1,500 point Ork army? Big Shootas, Lootas, Dakkaguns...
