So I'm no techy and really have no clue how possible this would actually be, but while conducting a trade recently (Via PMing of course) I thought that this would be so much easier/quicker if I could chat to them MSN style

This is just an idea of course, but I'd like to see what other people think!

Nothing is stopping you from using IMs to complete your trade! In fact, you can even enter your IM info into your Dakka profile so people can then contact you via IM if needed. Or if you want to keep that more private you can always simply PM the person you're trading with that you should take the trade onto an IM.

But as for implementing Dakka specific IMs or a chat room, the PM is the closest you're going to get to that. We're not interested in having a Dakka chat room (we feel it detracts from the discussion posted into the forums) and there's really no need to try to reinvent what already exists. If you like IMs, they exist (in many forms on the internet) and you can use them!
