I know 1500 point fleets and up are all the rage, but I'm getting back into BFG and having a hard time not wanting the majority of races. So I've been looking at 1000pt fleets.

Anyone play 1000 point fleets on a regular basis or is it not until you get 1500 until you find enjoyment?

Well, keep in mind I haven't played for over a year, but I have found smaller games to be quite enjoyable. To a certain extent, trying to make smaller fleets is more challenging. This adds enjoyment to me.

The one thing I will say (and this is barring any of the neato custom rules the guys at the SG forums have been working on), is that in my experience the IN will struggle a bit in lower point games. The way that fleet is structured, it just seems to get better exponentially with higher points totals.

Nah,
IN is good at 1000pts as well.

1000pts is a great point value. Makes you think a little harder on which ships to use.

I have two army lists, an ork army list for 1000pt games and a IN army list for 1500pt games.

I have to say that i personally enjoy playing the larger games.

However if your friends only want to play with larger forces why don't you play "The Raiders" or "Blockade Run" scenarios where you can use a 1000pt army list and they can use 2000pt army lists. That way its a win-win.
