The Scenario:

Grey knight Terminators set their sites on a tasty unit of 20 boyz, they assault it and combat ensues onto my turn, every Terminator isin Base to Base with a model. During my turn, I move my Warboss on a bike and assault the terminators that are all in base to base contact with a boy.

The Question:

Can any of the Terminators direct any attacks against my warboss?

The rule in question:

A model that began the turn in base to base contact with another enemy model must swing at the unit that model belongs to...

I have to admit, I miss the old Infantry battles of 4E compared to this 5E wonderland of APCs/IFVs everywhere. It's like we jumped from WWI to WWII.

The rule says no such thing. Either quote properly or not at all.

P41
Models that were engaged with just one of the enemy units at the beginning of the combat (before any model attacked) must attack that unit.
Models that were engage with more han one enemy model [blah] may split their attacks freely between those units.

So, in your example, all those models in B2B with the warboss may choose to direct some or all of their attacks at him or at the squad.

Its not "A model that began the 'turn' in base to base contact" its 'models that were engaged with just one of the enemy units at the beginning of the [round] of combat (Before any model attacked) must attack that unit.'

Any terminators that are in B2B with the warboss or within 2" of someone who is in B2B with the warboss 'at the beginning of the round of combat' can direct attacks at him.

The errata clears this up:

ERRATA

In all three bullet points, the word ʻcombatʼ will be changed
to ʻround of combatʼ

And remember that the 2" engagment bubble only works for models that are not in B2B with another unit.

Found the rule in the ERRATA:

ERRATA
Page 41 – Multiple Combats, Attacking.
A third bullet point should be added, as follows:
• Models that at the beginning of the combat (before any
model attacked) were engaged with more than one enemy
unit, but were in base contact with just one of the enemy
units, must attack that unit

It's actually always been the way Scott-S6 described. A lot of people misinterpret "beginning of combat" to mean the beginning of the phase, but that's never been true.

The assault phase procedure on the first page of the chapter makes clear that each combat starts in sequence, and that no combat starts until AFTER all assault moves and defenders react moves.

What the errata fixes/clarifies is that you check each ROUND of combat, not just when the combat first begins. So if more units join and when models from the original units move around/pile in at the end of each round, you establish again in at the beginning of each new round of HtH exactly which models can attack which units.

The warboss should usually only be in b2b with one model, so only that model can hit him, if all others are b2b with boyz.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.
