I called a certain online vendor today to try to order a few boxes of Dark Elf Executioners. They did not have enough in stock to fill my order completely so I asked if they could order more and just send me the full order when they get theirs in. I was told that they could not order any more because Dark Elf Executioners are being discontinued. WHAT!? That can't be right. They told me GW sends them lists of what is available to order and this particular item had been listed as "discontinued."

Anyone have any insight to this? Does this mean new Dark Elf Executioners are coming? Maybe plastic?

Many characters and rare units move from normal stores to mail order only to make room for new stuff. This is a usual practice for years. A few stores can order "mail order only" stuff as well, under very bad conditions. This has nothing to do with a new army book around the corner. The problem is enhanced by the current wave of retracted metal miniatures, rumoured to be a sign for a transition from metal to some kind of resin.

That said, there is a second wave of Dark Elves waiting for a release slot, but I don't remember rumours of Executioneers being part of it.

It's just GW removing most metal models from their independant retailers
