Hi all. I have had a great time with my pirate's life Shea tier list but was wondering if getting the Cryx and Cygnar tiers for my casters was worth it. I have p & e Haley, p & e Caine, and pStriker for Cygnar and p & e Deneghra, p & e Skarre, and p Goreshade for Cryx. I was planning on picking up eAsphyxious and Kara Sloan to finish up my casters i like. To shore up the tier lists for all these guys will run me about 276 bucks for Cygnar and 590 bucks for Cryx. Should I even bother or just get what i think is coolest and ignore the tiers? Back in mark 1 when I was first buying into the game i just got what i randomly thought was cool looking or what i liked the fluff for. Now that i am interested in actually playing more often and even branching out to tournaments i am wondering if the tiers for these two armies is worth getting. I already know that i dislike the Goreshade tier list so that isn't even a consideration. The rest are up in the air.

Imo the Cygnar Tiers aren't worth it unless your running somebody like Darius.

Even Darius's tier has serious problems (no magic weapons).

I don't know about Cryx, but the Cygnar Tiers are mostly OK. The only one I've seriously considered for tournament play is the Lt. Caine list due to the point discount on Gun Mages and the Free UA (thats easily 5 free points without thinking in a list).

The requirement for Double Long Gunner Units in a number of the Tier lists is rough, IMO. Especially considering that I don't like the sculpts all that much.

I've played the Mortenebra, pAsphixious, eGoreshade, Terminus and Venethrax tiers. They're all good playable lists.

eAsphixious has a pretty terrible tier IMO. Of course if you like Drudges then it's probably a bit better.

I don't know if i like drudges. So far I like everything I have played and only dislike pGoreshade's tier because of how restricted it is for warjacks. Are the drudges good? They seem fine in the book and with eAsphyxious' feat would be decent. I have thought about getting Mortenbra, but I wanted to get the casters i liked from thier fluff before branching out to ones that get little attention in the stories.

From the cygnar theme lists Kraye is one of the best. I gives you access to basically what you would want to run anyway, gives cheaper rangers and the other benefits aren't bad.

eStryker is also nice and fluffy, but suffers from not having access to pathfinder, which is going to make it though to play against a lot of casters/ lists.

Honestly, I don't think the egaspy theme list is that bad. Certainly drudges get a bad wrap, but you don't need them for the first two tiers, it allows tart and bane knights.

I have had a handful of vassals games (for better or worse) with tier 4. I didn't think it was crap. If the drudge models looked better I would invest, into that list.

I have invested in the eskarre list, now that is fun!

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

I know Mortenbra wasn't on your list but her Tier 3 is great (Discount all helljacks one point cost), can you say 5 point slayers?!?! And she can manage a fist full of jacks with terminal velocity.

I like the pBastard theme force myself. Sure it restricts your Jacks, but Goreshade isnt really picky. Take one Harrower and the four Stalkers and it'll work out great.

eSkarr would be another good one and one I would build if she wasn't a traitorous whore against Team Asphyxious. No Dycks Cryx.

eLichs theme force is good if you like Drudges. I can't stand the models myself, so I've only gone as far as tier two, which is merel OK because of the models you have to give up for it.

Right now I've been rocking a tier two Goreshade the Cursed theme force and loving it. Also got a full tier four Venethrax and working on Mortinebras.

I think the pShade list is quite limiting and doesn't have answers to higher def stuff.

I agree with the eSkarre comment, but No Dycks Cryx is just too funny..... I seem to win with the ladies more than the dudes...

Drudges getting AD helps to get them into the playable catagory, but they don't do well in the tarpit department IMO....which is what they need to do in the eGaspy theme IMO.

I've had so much more fun with eShade than pShade's theme....though I've transitioned into using 20 Bane Knights and forgoing any Bane Thralls....been very happy with it in testing.
