Hi

I always liked the Macharius pattern Super heavy tank so much that i decided to make my own LR Pattern.

Here are some WIP pictures id like to share.

The Turret

The cannons are not complete by far, but it looks like a tank atleast

I dunno, it still *looks* simply like a back to front Leman Russ, maybe I just cannot shake the somewhat iconic sillouette, but it needs *something* doing to it to make it look nicer.

The turret looks excellent but to me it looks like if it was ever to fire its guns the whole thing would tip over backwards. Perhaps if the backend was built up more to be bulky like the actual Marcharius it would look less unbalanced.

If it tipped backwards to absorb the shock of the blast then it would just right itself. It would rock back the come to rest back at firing position due to the weight distribution.

War is like fire: with enough fuel it will never end.

That's true but that still wouldn't be too comfortable for the crew or even the tank itself to get such a massive jolt each time it fires.

On a different note, in the top view of the turret it looks like the barrels are pushing eachother outwards, but that could be photo warpage.

where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

You really need two back halves of the Leman Russ hull to make it look balanced...

That would probably badly affect the aim though, you want a stable platform to fire from. They could have a 'dozer blade on the back to dig into the ground as a land anchor to prevent it rocking back.

I like it but it definitely needs something on that front panel to make it look more designed-for-purpose.

With the turret being placed so far to the rear, the area where the tracks curve upwards away from the ground would surely become a pivot point every time the tank fired, tipping it backwards. Possibly even becoming stuck resting on that angled section of track every time the main guns fired.
Now I don't know about you, but I don't think I'd want to be exposing the weak underbelly of the tank to the enemy, even for a moment.

Thin your paints, drill your gun barrels, remove all mold lines. The Emperor wills it.

i would extent the horizontal tread sections a bit, thats what separates the macharius from the russ chassis. also, the hvy stubber sponsons are needed to identify directionality a bit more, it just looks like the gunner turned the turret around to shoot something behind it
