Hey guys.
Just looking trough the Grey Knights codex, seeing the rules for the vindicare assassin.
Question is: the Turbo-penetrator shot has an armour penetration of 4 d6. But does the sniper has a basic strength of 3 counted with it?
So S3 + 4 D6??

The pen is mightier then the sword, but you must keep a sword handy for when the pen runs out of ink.

Its probably the best anti tank weapon in the game. The assassins uber high BS also helps

If ANY of the 4d6 come up 6's, it gets +1d3.
So potentially, 3+4d6+4d3.
(if it's anything like its predecessor was faq'd to be).

Sadly no-vehicles don't have a toughness value, just an armor value. It would be an interesting addition, and GW could probably FAQ it in as a particularly "lucky" shot from the vindicare...it might happen once in every 2000 games, but as of right now it doesn't work that way. Good idea if they're listening and just want to add it in though!

Rending rule says that you roll an additional d3 for penetration when you roll 6 on the armour penetration roll... It may not be intended but it works like stated right now.

In any case, if you roll
6, 1, 1, 1 on your 4d6
It does : 3+9+1D3 = 13-15 AP
So, more 6 are not really useful...

It would be worse? The old rending rules were based on rolling a 6 to hit, not to wound or armour penetration, so it would have had a maximum of 3+5D6, rather than 3+ 4D6+4D3.
