Do you guys gave a ork list to suggest for 1500 pts.

I want an elite army with only a few really powerful elite models. I does not matter if the list is not super competitive.

Cheers

2 warboss and 20 or so nob bikers is the standard low model count ork list.

I would try something like 2 warboss and 3 BWs with about 5-7 nobz in them.

The deffrolla on the wagons is really helpful if you find something tht PKs wont kill (like a LR moving 12" every turn)

Damn I cant wait to the GW legal team codex comes out now there is a dex that will conquer all.

Is it possible to actually win battles with this kind of army?

Any competitive list would take an army like that out with relative ease IMO. If your looking for a fun army that fits what you've posted, that will work, but don't expect to win a lot of games with it

Just my 2 cents

I love Mech Orks and my standard 1500 list is a Warboss w/the trimming, Big Mek w/KFF, two battle wagons w/ deff rollas, three squads of trukk boyz, and a couple deffkoptas w/buzzsaws. Pretty straight forward tactics. Set up in a block so everyone gets a coversave and charge forwards and punch people in the face.

I have almost never played an opponent who had fewer models than me, and I mostly play against Marines!

Big Mek, KFF

MaW or MaBM, or BCWB, with trimmings, depending on the game's points.

Squad of Meganobz, ~ 5 or so, depending on points.

Shenaniganized Nobz squad, with dok, Big choppas, cybork, etc.

20 'ard Shoota boyz

1-2 squads of 3x Kanz w/KMB (depending on points)

1-2 Deff dredds, each with either dual KMBs or dual DCCW (depending on points, and how many Big Meks I'm taking)

Battlewagon, RPJ, Deffrolla, Armour, Grots, Big Shoota, Zzap gun.

Battlewagon, Killkannon, 'ard Case, 4x Rokkits, Armour plates, Grots, Kanon.

I'll switch up my list a little, depending on if I want the MaNz or the Shenaniganized Nobz as the troops (they go with the warboss with similar gear), or if I feel like taking extra walkers that day.

For whatever reason, this list seems to absolutely murder Deathwing, though it's fairly mediocre otherwise.

Mega-armoured Warboss, Mega-armoured Big Mek, and a mistake. Should be a BCWB, Big Choppa War Boss. with trimmings, of course.

I'd consider a Kan Wall:

1 Big Mek
1 Waaghboss
3x 20 Boyz - replace some Boyz by a (scoring) Nob mob
9 Kanz
2x6 Lootaz

Who the heck takes a Mega-Armoured Big Mek? You can't have a KFF if you take Mega-Armour, kinda pointless aint it?

A Big Choppa Warboss? Seriously????? Shheesh! this is why the internet thinks Orks are not competitive!!!!

Noob-ish question of sorts, but how dangerous is a Land Raider moving 12" every turn? It can't shoot, the passengers can disembark but can't assault (but can shoot as if they have moved, i.e. no heavy weapons etc.) meaning that if they deploy anywhere within 12" of a unit (for them to assault next time), they'll be assaulted in orks next turn.. I'd say the biggest danger it has would be to tank shock units? Or is there something I have overlooked?

Overlooked? Yes, please: A LR can move 12'', fire one weapon (thanks to machine spirit), and the unit transported can disembark and charge in the same turn. After all, a LR is an assault vehicle.

It's all points stuff, and whether I want that second Deffdred in my army or not. I always take both Nob squads, so the Battlewagons are Dedicated Transports, and I'll take anywhere from one to three squadrons of Killa Kans (though I don't run Kan Wall, I just like Walkers). If I want a whole lot of walkers, I'll want the extra Deffdred having another Mek as HQ gets me, but I still want some more combat use from my second HQ, so I'll put him in Mega Armour, Cybork and an Attack squig (maybe Burna) and attach him to the Meganobz squad. You'll note that I always have a KFF Mek as my primary HQ.

the Big Choppa Boss is more useful than you might realize, especially against enemy walkers, since he gets to hit at Initiative, and charging gets Str 8, with a LOT of attacks.

Both of those HQs are cheaper than a MaWB, if necessary.

Also, I don't play primarily for competition, I play primarily for fun and fluff. The OP wasn't asking for super-comp lists, or else he'd just go with one of the 'basic' ork lists; he was asking for something with few models, that wasn't horribly underpowered.

POTMS allows it to shoot 1 weapon even if it moves 12" also PKs need a 6 to hit in assault with a veh that moves over 6" meanig you better be throwing alot of PKsat it to do the job with any chance of success (normal nobs are ST 9 on the charge meaning that they need 5 to just glance it) A deffrolla gets around this by just dealing a simple D6 ST 10 hits and all you gotta do is ram the LR =)

Could replace the 2 big shootas with Kannons, so you can fire the Frag round while you move.

That's an elite force but not really competitive. If you fought my army, I'd kill the transports first turn with my lascannons (if they fail the manticores would do it). By turn three you would be dead probably. Depends how good you are at rolling 5+'s.

Sorry for the spiky bit now for the helpful side
The best elite ork army I've ever fought was something like
Mek w/ shokk attack gun
10 biker nobs, painboy, pk's
20 hardboyz in battlewagon
12 boys in trukk
15 lootas
9 deffkoptas w/ pk's possibly rokkits

Can't remember it exactly but it was along those lines. They used cover and the deffkoptas infiltrated and caused me one hell of a problem

wait, 5+? Are you confusing Meganobz with Terminators?

And 69 models is not an 'elite, few model' army.
