Just picked up some stormvermin, and they're taunting me with their awesomeness. I'm stoked to start on them, but I know that some folk like to wash their sprues prior to doing any modelling work on them. I've never washed anything prior to priming, and the coat on the primer always comes out just fine. I'm curious if there is a difference when washing the sprues as the first stage. What does it do? Are the results worth it?

Thanks in advance,

Washing is done to get rid of mould-release agent that may be present on the plastic/metal. The agent can cause poor adhesion of paint.

I always wash my models in warm soapy water just before priming - gets rid of mould-release agent, dust and finger grease.
