Hi All,

I've spent a while scouring the web for a conversion I remember seeing a few years back and always had in the back of my mind as one I wanted to try and copy.

The original was by a guy called Dave Gausebeck but any references to the orignal images he posted of the conversion seem to have disappeared. All I can find is a picture from the front that somebody had saved on their computer, originally there was 6 or 7 pics from various angles.

Has anybody else saved these pics or has made the conversion themselves?

That is one sick conversion but sorry no.

What do you want to know, what kits are used?

To me it looks like:
legs and lower body of a Defiler,
main body is a Tau Piranha,
big gun on top is from a Leman Russ,
2 lower guns are the Defiler autocannons,
flamers under the "chin",
other bits appear to be Khorne/chaos and Dark Eldar stuff
Most of the filler panels are Defiler armor bits

Overall it seems like it would be pretty simple to copy. Im going to save this page, one of these is going on my list of projects, thanks for the cool find.

If there was even the remotest chance of me playing Chaos, I would jump all over this conversion. I love it..

Cheers, the bit thats concerning me most is what the cannon is attached to, is it mounted onto the tope of the piranha or has he used an additional leg from behind arching over scorpion style?

That is one of the sickest conversions I have ever seen. But sorry, I can't help you. I am nearly tempted to put that on my "To Do" list even though I would never field a chaos army.

Ok, about the cannon. I think it's clearly mounted to the Piranah and it looks like random armor panels were used to make the housing for it.

yeah I would agree that the cannon is mounted towards the rear of the cockpit with armor plates to cover up the gaps. The wings cut off and the engine exhausts cover with armor plates. It also appears to just be directly mounted onto the lower half of a defiler with the cockpit area sticking out past the exhaust on the defiler lower. It looks like a pretty simple conversion actually. Good luck with it.
