I know a few of you have asked, and this image was all done in photoshop with a tablet (a cintiq 12wx to be precise).

I did draw it

just, on the computer with a tablet

Occasionally I will draw on paper, scan in, and then paint on top of that as well. However, I generally work better starting with large masses and shapes and working detail into them.

Totally just scribbled down a layout/idea for GKs vs Angron. @Darkvoidof40k, there are 4 GKs in the shot that I've scribbled down, maybe the implication of more.

But I have a commission piece to do for someone on the board first

Its not that he is short, its just that I thought terminator armor made a Space Marines stature quite exaggerated and tall. Terminator armor 8.5ft-9ft tall or taller? I am not totally sure.

I'd have to look through my codicies to see if I can find a puny regular human, albeit a powerful inquisitor, standing next to a Space Marine in terminator armor.

Well I mostly drew Draigo from the model, but with a helmet on he looks more like a regular Justicar, I agree. But I can't stand my GKs without helmets!

Yea, I might rework that a bit. Got some feedback from my art forum so there are a few changes I'll be making. I kind of shoehorned in the demons on the edges and I think they are weakening the overall composition. I was drawing it as a pose piece, then I was like... I'LL ADD SOME DAEMONS, YEA! Silly me. That needs to be planned in beforehand!

So, we'll see. I'll make sure to leave this piece up though.

Also, don't most people know what a commission is? I've got people on another forum asking me to make them pictures for free.

Well, its a bit more complicated than that, but that is a simple way of describing my process. However for this I did my linework in photoshop, not to mention all the painting as well.

I actually want to do a sort of novel cover with GKs fighting Angron "The Fall of Angron", or something like that. I haven't managed to get a composition I feel that works though, maybe soon!

Oh, I wouldn't say I'm better than the GW cover guys, I like a lot of their stuff!

That kind of an image wouldn't really be a book cover, that would be like a fold-out image in a giant hard-back rulebook

Undoubtedly cool, that would be crazy to do and take quite a long time... maybe I'd do it more as a conceptual piece rather than an illustration.
