For those who aren't familiar, here's the web site:

Some truely beautiful miniatures, IMHO.
I want to make 2 IG Veteran squads with the Highland guard conversion kits.
Here's my dilemma. Should i change the heads, or go with the original? I was really
liking the idea of Plith helmets or Anzac heads. but the more i look at the original heads,
the more i like them. my main concern with the original heads is repetition. since i'm only
20, it may not be too bad.

what do you fine folks suggest?

I like the plinth helmet thought.

"Pith helmet". A plinth is a short column. Sort of like a pedestal that a sculpture would go on, or whatever. To be more specific, the helmet on that website is a British pith helmet. They're the more pointy of the pith style.

Anyway, I like the stock heads, personally. If you mixed it up a little with some aftermarket heads, it could be a pretty cool unit. Anzac heads, while neat, are so easily identifiable with being Anzacs, it really limits their use as anything beyond Vietnam, in my opinion.

Anzacs are Anzacs. Anything else with an Anzac head is just an Anzac on another body.

You are correct sir. I did mean pith. @#$% smart phone really made me look dumb there.

That's an Indian Pith. The British Pith is more like the Praetorian Guard. Like the guy on that website.

Not that I am all up on my hat-styles or anything. Hard to find one big enough for my 3 heads, forget about the shapes...

An 'Anzac' (or slouch) hat to an aussie or kiwi is primarily a WW1 thing - where the whole ANZAC thing originated. We think of the founding time firstly.
The hat itself though is an intrinsic part of the uniform (combat helmets replace it in the field), and has been seen in many theatres since then, including Viet-Nam and other conflicts.

To the OP: Go with the original heads. Uniformity isn't a bad thing in an army. It kinda goes with the whole "uniform" thing.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

Gathering the Informations.

To be fair, Chromedog--it was used a bit before WW1. The Boer War had something similar from what I remember.

But it wasn't until the ANZACs issued it as uniform that it really became well-known.
