My friend, who for some strange reason can't log onto his account wanted me to make this thread. He's recently bought the IG Battleforce as well as the Codex, and right now he wants to know what he should buy next. He also wants to know what are the best ways to equip Veterans, and if they have to look different from his normal infantry. So please give us some advice

It's generally best to make them look different from other infantry squads, but if your opponent knows that they're veterans it shouldn't present a challenge. Everyone on here seems to think that 3x Plasgun and 3x Melta is the way to go with veteran squads. If he's going for the standard mech list, the next step is probably a russ, or the valkyrie is pretty good too.

Thanks for the quick response, but he says that he doesn't have those weapons in the Battleforce. I'll tell him to check again.

He'll only get one of each weapon there in the battleforce. Most people buy them off bitz trading sites. I personally don't want to do this and thus go with the immensely more common flamer and grenade launcher.

In my Imperial Guard experiences, I thought infantry boxes and Leman Russ were always welcome in as much number as I could get.

Also, nothing goes better with Infantry than a bunch of Chimeras!

I think that now he knows what he wants to get, so thanks for help. The problem is, if he bought the guns from bitz sites, it would be really, really expensive because of the exchange rate of Polsh money and Euros/Pounds. And there aren't really any Polish ones. Are there plasma weapons or melta guns in the infantry boxes? And I guess there isn't really another way to get them?
