Main race to play against will be Orks

Yrield was chosen as he fits in well fluff wise with my BFG fleet

Swooping hawks were chosen over Warp Spiders as i felt again fluff wise Iyanden wouldnt have the troops to be loosing in the warp etc, so Hawks seemed safer in that regard

I'd make one of the Wraithguard squads in you 2000 point lists a 10 man squad as it will then become troops (which you probably need more than two of in a 2K list).

if your mainly playing Orks then Striking Scorpions would preform better than banshee's their high strength will help put wounds on the Orks, and given that most orks have a 6+ save the Banshees power weapons will be wasted.

Additionally I'd look into swapping out the Hawks for a Warp Spider squad, sure they have short range but there jump pack allows them to shoot then jump back out of assault range! Fluff wise from reading path of the warrior Eldar are called to a specific aspect based on what called them to the path of the warrior, it's not so much them deciding I'm going to become a Warp Spider as it is that the Warp Spider aspect provides the means to deal with the state of mind that drew them to the warrior path in the first place.

Thanks for the reply, I'll shuffle the lists a little once i get home, I did think of scorpions but hadnt though of a nice way to implement both their green scheme and my iyenden scheme into the units ( blue and a pale yellow / bone colour ), as I will want to keep the units unified to the rest of the force and at the same time keep something of their aspect colours. But yes I will look again and amend the list, thanks.

I'd have to agree with stu on the 2K game. I'd probably drop the guardian squad in order to bring both the wraith guard squads up to 10, making them both troops. As Stu said, replace banshees with scorpions. I want to say to get rid of those dire avangers as well, since without a serpent, they are just going to die =/ Maybe replace them with some jet bikes to try and flank with? 3x Guardian jetbikes w/ warlock + singing spear + embolden comes out to 129 points, so you'll save some points by doing it too, and it can give you a bit of an advantage late game (Maybe even hold them in reserve to try and use them for late game objective grabbing? Just a thought.

Back to the scorpions, you'll want to try and fill them out to max number, so slimming points to be able to do so would be helpful. The above changes I believe will just about do that.

You might also want to try and find a way to fit in a second squad of scorpions I'm thinking, as your guard don't do too well in CC, especially against an army like the Orks where they can have a pk nob swinging with 4 powerfist attacks, so you'll want some cover. Warp spiders are also a great way to accomplish that as they can take hit and run, that way you can still get your shooting. that being said, I again agree with stu, swap the hawks for spiders, make sure they get withdraw, and that the exarch gets powerblades (For the extra attack if nothing else)

Yendor

Usually most Iyanden based lists feature the Avatar- to make everybody fearless, and Eldrad- to spam fortune like its going out of style. All wraithguard squads need to be fortuned, all the time- and the Avatar should probably be fortuned as well!

Fortune is really the lifeblood of an Iyanden list.

Harlequins and/or scorpions are the best melee support.

Harlequins because they are beastly in assault, and can't be targeted thanks to the shadowseer.

Scorpions are good because they can outflank. This puts pressure on your opponent to deploy in the middle, where your wall o death is walking up. The funneling effect alone is probably worth the points of the scorpions.

Dire Avengers can serve a point in this type of list. but I'd take a 10 man squad with an Exarch with Pw+SS and defend. This is your tar pit. Hit em (possibly) with fortune, then position them so that they are the only unit an enemy melee unit can charge. -1 attack, 5+ invulnerable and re rollign saves will tarpit like a boss, then on your turn you can counter charge with harlequins + wraithlords + (possibly avatar).

Guardians are good. You should get a warlock with conceal, so that they have a slightly more reliable saving throw.

I'd give your lord's sword + lance if you are not running harlequins. And Lance + EML if you do decide to run clowns. You need as much long range anti tank as possible, and Lords are the best platform for that in an Iyanden list. If you aren't running Harlies, then you'll need the swords to give you some more counter charge- ESPECIALLY since you aren't running Avatar.

Drop the hawks to free up some points.

Xom finds this thread hilarious!
