First to the Fray lets Mordrak and the unit he accompanies deep strike in the players first turn, and the resulting deep strike does not scatter.


Could you theoretically embark Mordrak and his unit in a Stormraven and deep strike it using his "First to the Fray" rules?

Or since the transport is not dedicated you cannot confer rules to it?

I don't have my codex in front of me at the moment, but if I recall it simply states Mordrak and his unit, and never says you can or cannot be in a transport. So technically if his unit can be in a transport already in reserve and the transport is able to deep strike, it seems you could do this unless I am overlooking a main rulebook rule?

My post that answers this specific question: "Mordak+Knights+ICs in the Storm raven(up to transport limits of the Storm Raven) can still Deepstrike(because the Storm Raven has that rule), but cannot benefit from FttF. "


Reason being that Mordak+unit are not Deepstriking via their own rules, but rather the Storraven is using it's deepstrike ability and Mordak+crew are just along for the ride.

yeah that makes sense. I tried to search for it but forum search was being kinda funny.

It's Ok; only reason I linked the other thread(or even mentioned it) is because it is still on the front page; I know the Search has bean wonky again lately so usually just let it go.

If you really want to search dakkadakka, simply google your query and add "dakkadakka" to it.

Lego's still working to get the Search function on Dakka fixed again. It is a priority and should be fixed relatively soon.

In the interim, Jidmah's suggestion is an excellent one.
