Hi, I've Started Dark Eldar and I have included a Voidraven Bomber in my lists, seeing as there's no model for it, I was wondering how to make it using plastic kits, any ideas??

I was gonna play Dark Eldar back before I found out how non-competitive their new Codex was and my plan to build a voidraven worked pretty much like this,

1. Buy 2 Eldar Falcon Kits
2. Buy 1 Valkyrie kit for cockpit and wings.
3. Put the Falcon bodies together so that the backs were facing each other with the cockpit scrunched in the middle (with greenstuff to fill in the gaps and make it look seamless). and then putting the wings together on the side of the cockpit.
4. Finally using the flight base that comes with said Valkyrie.

That was pretty much my plan it would have been an expensive model, $45+$45 for both falcons plus $62 for the Valkyrie roughly equals $152 for one model, but it would have looked awesome.

If your looking for a cheaper alternative, a guy at my FLGS used 2 Eldar Falcons put together with a plastic bottle as the nose, once it was painted up it looked pretty awesome.

Unrelated, but what are you smoking? Their new codex is at least top 5.

Echoing this. Dark Eldar are rad.

Some people use models of the Batwing from Batman Forever/Batman and Robin. Other people convert their own using cut up Falcon grav tanks. There's also Forgeworld if money isn't a problem: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Dark_Eldar

Or, you could wait a month for when the official model is released?

Okay I'm not getting into another argument on here and I definitely don't want to turn this thread into something entirely unrelated. I also didn't mean at all to put down Dark Eldar. Where I play Dark Eldar are considered uncompetitive we have had several people try and play them and outright quit. Do I think their a bad army? No, I just think they are really tough to play and no one at my FLGS has found the trick to playing them yet, its pretty much like the Tau argument.

I can't tell whether you guys were being serious or sarcastic but if you were serious read the above.

As for the model again, like Brother SRM said, those are some of your options and yes, Forge World is always an option as well (albeit an expensive one).

This. The voidraven appears to be pictured on the back of this months WD, suggesting it's arriving pretty damn soon. It'll be cheaper than 2 Falcons at the very least!

That's a better elaboration, and better than just saying "they're not competitive" considering they can eat most armies alive.

There's a plastic one coming out next month or so, as has been mentioned. It's mentioned on the back of the next or current White Dwarf.

The last rumours I saw were that the Razorwing was coming out but the Voidraven wasn't. How much truth is in that is unclear, but we should be finding out by next Wednesday or so.

In other words, wait until they but up the preorders before you spend your money on the parts to convert one, just in case.

I heard that both are getting models. Either way OP, I'd say it's worth waiting for the model to come out to see what it is and it's probably worth converting a Razorwing into a Voidraven if its just the RW that comes out...

The Razorwing certainly is confirmed to be released in June (by showing its pic in WD).
Still unclear if the Voidraven will also be released then (it was planned for June originally), but it WILL get a model.

I had actually heard the kit can make either a voidraven or a Razorwing.

Don't do anything for now!! As appears in the back-cover of the recent White Dwarf, it seems we're getting nice GW models for them. Wait a bit! ^^
