So do you think that new game in July will be more realistic than Fire Warrior ( Chuck O'Kais FTW )?

I already see some things ( like having a LOT of ammunition for bolter in your backpack, and HB has unlimited bullets ). But I must ask for others:

-I thought until this game that only Terminators can go trough cover and walls. Here I say a SM go trough solid rock cover.
-And how strong SM punch is ( without power-fist )? I saw him hit an Ork and next moment - his head is gone.

So what do you think?

I think it will be the most realistic portrayal of Warhammer 40,000 in a game so far. The stuff of heroes; a la Black Library. Just as it should be.

And this should be in Video Games, not 40k Background. I have no doubt the mods will move it soon.

Eye of Terror... I think

This needs to be moved

But from what Ive seen of the interviews and playtesting they are pretty much as close as we can ask. Of course people will still find things to btich about till its PERFECT(!) and even then....

They say that one of the complaints in fact in play testing was running out of ammunition with the bolter, the designers explained it is intened to be that way not for realism, but to force the player to fall back on those awsome CC moves and the chain sword more often.

A normal ork has never been the physical match for a SM in power armor. I think its perfectly fine if hes wading through hoardes of them with only is sword and fists. Mainly because I hear the Nobs are more than a match for a SM with is also fluffy IMO.

But what im most looking forward to... how will CHAOS play into this? I hear the bloodletters and CSM are a real pain to fight and quite balanced compared to your capabilities. Ex:SM VS CSM is going to be a pretty tough match, though obiously you are a captain or Sgt or some figure that gives you a slight boost from the average SM.

I hardly consider Black Library to be the "most realistic portrayal" of 40k fluff, since every book is from an Imperial perspective, and goes against what a lot of the other codices say. Still, this game looks pretty fun. Now if only you could play as an Ork in multiplayer.

Also, yes, I'd imagine a regular SM could break through stone walls.

That;s what I am talking about, the 3'rd video...

He hit's him with power fist in the head - and he is alive?

The power fist may not have been activated. Don't they typically "hum" with power and electrical energies? If not activated, it may have just been like bludgeoning him in the face with a big 'ol hammer. Mess him up, yes. Kill him outright? maybe, maybe not. Either way, he was twitching and spazming afterwards. So his brain was definatly rattled...

Right, he wanted to properly execute him instead of kill him in battle.

The power fist, if it was on, would have been glowing and crackling with its power field.

They probably have some agenda, lioke in first DoW game. Using Orks to throw Imperials of balance and work their agenda in the shadow of an Ork invasion...

Meh, it sucks. I was hoping Orks were the big bad.

I want to see the Chaos Lord ripped in half by the Ork warboss as he reminds everyone about the two ton fungus-dude in the room that wants nothing more than to kill you in as messy and violent a way as possible.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

Orks are traditionally used by other races, look at Armageddon and how the Eldar decided to give it the power of going green. So yeah, Chaos forces are probably using Orks for something without them knowing it.

And forcing players into close combat by reducing available ammo sounds like they really put some work into making the orks look all sorts of dorked up.

I know they are, and it's stupid.

Well, orks are stupid. All the CSM probably had to do was dangle something that looked remotely like a giant ork tooth(like a giant white banana) and put it on a planet.

Besides, Orks weren't made for thinking, that's what the Eldar were for.

3rd video is actually actually from Plastic Wax, an independent 3d movie studio. They did that clip to try and get further work from THQ/GW for working on the 40k franchise.

I want to know if we actually get to use more than boltguns and chainswords.. seems likely from the original trailer that featured a Heavy bolter, Thunder Hammer and whatnot.

Ah, look at me rambling on in a fatigued state.

But the first *ever* video I saw of this game was many years ago; it was actual gameplay with commentary - the Captain was just fighting Cultists and Chaos Marines. It was awesome, although much less developed than the game at present, I'm sure.

I was hoping it would be shootier. But then again, we don't need a repeat of Fire Warrior, do we?
