Can someone give me a quick and dirty version of this? Is it still legitimate or has it been dismissed? May the Emperor still be resurrected?
Thanks to any responses

Kill aliens and Warp-spawned filth wherever you find them and in whatever circumstances you find them. There is no such thing as tolerance for such as them as far as the Emperor is concerned.

Illuminti are in alliance with aliens ( mostly Eldar ) and they are taking necessary steps toward insuring that Mankind don't fall like the Eldar.

Sensei are preparing for the final battle against Chaos.

As for the Emperor - we have Star Child theory. But the fact is that his psychic power is immense and it is in fact trapped in his rotting body. Nobody knows what will happened if he get lose...

And above all else - the Inquisition is considering Illuminiti and Sensai Heretics and Traitors that must be purged...

For Emperor and Imperium!!!!

The Emperor doesn't have a GKs unshakable faith in the Emperor which is....basically himself?

I think the main reason the Inquisition is hunting them down is because it challenges their power, or that of the high lords atleast. The fact that not everyone believes in the Illuminati or sensei is the main reason they haven't been hunted down and wiped out because the imperium could if it focused it's attention on it.

the Sensei are the Emperor's natural born children.

it is rumored that they are planning a massive sacrfice of themselves(similer to how ther Emperor was created in the first place) to rejuvinate the emperor. the Inquisition hunts them because they want them for research.

the Illuminati are actually thee Sensei's support group that works to prevent the fall of mankind.

If the Emperor's body is killed then his soul will enter the warp and become the Star Child. essentially a 5th major Chaos God, Humanity's God.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

I wonder if they will actually advance the story in some way in 6th edition.

Maybe the Emperor's physical body can truly die, but the Astronomicon still keeps going because the Emperor's new, freed warp presence can keep it going.

And Russ can come back

Actually the Illuminati do protect the Sensei from the inquisition, but in the end the Illuminati are planning a mass sacrifice of the Sensei, and the Sensei are not aware of this plan. The Sesnei may not wish to be sacrificed as the Illuminati intends, so the Illuminati keeps them in the dark as to their true purpose.
The mass sacrifice is intended to give rebirth the emperor.

All members of the Illuminati have exorcised a demon from themselves, a ridiculous feat, and as a result they can never be possessed by a demon again. This is how they became "Illuminated" and the only way possible to join the Illuminati.
The Illuminati also have access to the Black Library

Huh. I thought this was dead fluff, excommunicated from canon. Is it back in again?

No offense, but i hate that sentiment. There are many on the internet who have arbitrarily decided that since this is old than it doesn't apply anymore. I say that's crap.
I have never seen GW state that "There is no Star Child. There are no Sensei. There is no Illuminati."
Until they officially retract this stuff, it is still in play and viable.

None taken. I just thought I had seen it written somewhere that it was 'non-canon' but, as you say, I can't think of GW ever officially dropping something. Oh, except Squats. I was more going on it not being mentioned any more, that I've seen, so it being passively dropped rather than actively. I was also wondering if stuff's being written again and I'd missed it.

The last official mention of any of this business was side blurb in the 3rd edition rule book referring to the Cult of the Starchild. So no, it hasn't been touched on in a long time, but I really don't think that effects its legitimacy.
With all of the new roleplaying games out for 40k nowadays, maybe this will be touched on again soon.

nah its not being re-written AFAIK, but it hasnt been thrown out either.
The idea of the Illuminati is a bit ridiculous though, no-one has the willpower to exorcise a demon from themselves. But it is kinda cool too

Would suit me. I always loved that stuff, and was disappointed when it fell out of favour. I don't like it to be hard and fast though, prefering it to seem 50/50 as to whether they're on to something or just a bunch of nutcases.

@Reiko
Come on, the whole setting is insanely over the top. Why shouldn't someone have that power. Also, don't the Exorcists chapter marines do something like that?

(If not, just wait for Matt Ward's Codex Illuminati. They'll have guys summoning and exorcising daemons in themselves on the battlefield. /troll)

Kinda, the Exorcists were allowed to be possessed by a minor daemonic entity and then were exorcised by an outside source (a Daemonhunter i think).
of cors it over the top!thats why we love it but there is a limit, for me at least.
lol at the Ward ref (in all seriousness i hope hes kept away from any and all fluff from now on but i know its not gonna happen)

Yeah, I'm cool with the Sesnei and Illuminati existing as fact, but I'd the like the Star child to just be their particular belief and not necessarily the hard and fast truth.
