Not exactly a game, but some miniatures intended for games other than 40k or WM.

My order from Denizen came in yesterday from the UK. Really nice figs at a great price. They have a US distributor as well. Though I'm in the USA, I ordered direct to be able to select individual figures rather than packaged sets.

I got some Khiff and Ventaurans and weapons packs and my friend ordered a few hitchikers

A few observations.

Service.- Slow delivery from the UK seems to be the norm these days, even from speedy companies like EM4 and this was no exception. However, but Chub at Denizen answered all my questions thouroughly and quickly and promptly mailed out a missing figure. Very pleased!

Size-The Ventaurans and Khiff are in the 27-28mm range and quite slight compared to the current crop of 30-32mm heroics, but when their integral base is left on, they compare favorably with other 28's and being aliens size is relative. The Hitchikers are true 25's and look small next to all 28's.

Weapons packs- These are quite small but very well done. an excelent set of weapons for true 28's, 25's or figures with slight builds, like many heroclix and reaper female figs.

Price/Value: Great! I ordered 30 figs, and the price-per-fig-including-shipping after conversion was about a $1.90USD USD. Ordering from Historical minifigs would proably have been around fifteen cents cheaper per fig. Sculpting/casting: Extremely crisp casts and the sculpts are very well done. Not as nice as the best of GW and PP, but Better than many other recent lines of 28's and certainly the best by far of anything in this price range. These are nice sculpts and very carefully casted. Notice in the Ventauran detail pic, a recessed helmet with a negative angle and yet there are eyebrows and other find detailing on the alien face.

Hitchikers: Aren't really my thing, but then I didn't buy them. They aren't bad figs at all, but are definitely of a past era in size and level of detail. They compare favorably with some of my old shadowrun figs.

Khiff: The Khiff looked reptilian to me onine, but in person, they could be either reptilian or kind of canine'ish.

Ventaurans: Though a few of the ventaurans have open facemasks or are helmetless showing a fairly classic alien type head, most of the range is closed helmeted and they could just as easily be armored humans. Notably also, the Ventaurans also have separate backpacks.

Anyhow, as you can see, I really like these figs. I hope more folks discover them and maybe someday the line will be expanded. I have other similar older ranges that are my favorites, including Spacelords Sardaykin who the Ventaurans will hopefully someday battle, but I'm going to give these my personal award for:

Best Metal Sci-Fi 28's under 2 bucks.

Also there's some other great comparison figs including IG for Ventaurans here: http://saxondogwarband.blogspot.com/2011/03/denizens-25mm-venturans-size-comparison.html
