Subject: Skyclaws vs Wolfguard w/jump packs? (in a LoganWing)

I'm currently in the process of revamping my Tau, but I have a number of models from a few years back where I was going to put a small Deathwing army together. With 5th Ed, and the flexibility of the Space Wolf Codex I'm thinking of rolling these into a LoganWing army. Fielding cheaper terminators with more flexibility (i.e. not forced into 5 or 10 man squads, Dreads have more options, scouts have better options, etc) than Dark Angels was the tipping point. It's for a DIY Chapter for what that's worth.
I'm not asking should I take either, as I would be fielding Jump Pack Infantry in some capacity (I have a vision of Termies, with a scout front force, backed up with Dreads, Landspeeders, and Jump Pack Marines, practicality be damned).
What I'm asking is, are you better off taking Wolf Guard with Jumppacks or Skyclaws? Wolf Guard are definitely more expensive, but better and more flexible (and would be a chance to do something I've always wanted to do, bolter equiped Jump Pack Marines). Skyclaws are cheaper, with a mass of attacks on the charge, plus they can carry things like true melta guns/flamers as opposed to combi-weapons.
Overall I'd be looking at
Logan
2-4 5 man squads of Termis (two with cyclones, and 1 or 2 with Assault Cannons), mixing in other stuff as needed
2 Landspeeders with Multi Meltas
2 Dreads (possibly 3 in a high enough point total, using one as a counts as Bjorn)
A scout squad
JP squad or two
Again, not looking for viability of such a list, just which JP Marine would better suit it

I would probably go with jp wolfguard if I had to choose.
1) they would score in that list, and with all your other scoring units being termies a more mobile scoring unit could be a big advantage
2) don't need an IC babysitter, this actually makes the points between the two units fairly similiar
3) bs 4, and combi weapons so they could be an anti-tank unit for you

For one WG with a JP and combimelta you can have three blood claws. On the charge, you will 12 attacks with the BCs and (I forget their base attacks, sorry, codex is in the car) either 2 or 3 attacks on the charge.
I was looking at this with Swiftclaws vs WG bikers, but just the bike costs more for the WG than a Swifclaw. I can't justify the points difference. IIRC, one WG with PF on a bike is roughly equal to 3 swifclaws with Melta, and an attached attack bike with MM.
The maths just don't add up. Run whatever you want to, but you will have roughly 1/3 the models if you use the WG w/JP.

Good point about how thin the army would be, but I hadn't thought of a combi melta jp wolf guard squad, and scoring as well
Alternately a combi flamer squad could fly in, annihilate the enemy, and have the obj all to themselves.
Of course, that many attacks off the Blood Claws on the charge, plus a flamer should do the same thing.

Agreed...man, 10 extra attacks...throw in a bare bones wolf priest w/JP and you could wipe out a unit of boys before they get to attack.

Reading through the codex, this idea does bear some merrit. I would loose the scoring unit of a wolf guard unit, but with the wolf priest able to give preferred enemy I could flame a unit, then bum rush to annihilate them in the charge.
Thanks for the input.

I have used Sky Claws to great affect, much to the surprise of my opponents. They certainly aren't uber competitive but either a bare bones WP, as has been mentioned, or even the full blown SkyStar (WP, WL, RP all with JP accompanying the SC) is a good idea.
