Just want to make sure I didn't cheat a guy a couple of weeks ago:

I had an Archon that had taken Combat Drugs. He is joining a unit of Wyches and loading up in a Raider. At the beginning of the game, I roll for Combat Drugs and I get the drugs that gives all affected units a Pain token. I assumed that the IC and the Wyches were treated as separate units (even though they are together in the Raider) and thus concluded that that entire unit (the IC and the attached Wych squad) gets two Pain tokens, one from the Archon and one from the Wyches.

Was this correct?

As far as I can tell you were correct. The IC is a seperate unit at the start of the game (pre-deployment) that is then joined to another unit after the game begins.

I'm at work, so my codex is not on hand, but it sounds correct to me. I'll check with my dex if no-one has done so by the time i hit this thread again

Not entirely true any longer. The BRB FAQ ruled that you declared attachment to units prior to the game start, during deployment - which allows Shrikes special infiltrate ability to work.

Drugs are rolled before deployment, and therefore the IC would still be a separate unit when the roll is made.
