As the title says basically. What happened to Constantin Valdor, the head honcho of the Custodes?
We all know the custodes were tough-nuts and Valdor was the toughest tough-nut, but I don't think I've ever heard what happened to him and was wondering if it's ever actually been said what?
I'm pretty clued up on my fluff and I know some old stuff placed him at Prospero, but this seems to have been contradicted by the recent TS novel, so I'm still wondering what happened to Valdor...

Originally he was the Custodes who saved Bjorn by cutting off his arm, which happened in one of the Visions books. Which is a better telling in my opinion.
He is also mentioned in a Thousand Sons on course to Prospero, and if I recall correctly, kills one of the main characters, but not 100% sure in that regard.
He's back in time for Nemesis and the meeting with the Assassins. But then is this after or before the events on Prospero?
If so how did he get back so much faster than the Space Wolfs?

In previous fluff, Constantin Valdor did travel to Prospero and fought the TS alongside the SW. It was effectively there that he saved Bjorn's life by cutting his arm off. Therefore, it was thought that he arrived too late for the big party at Terra, and thus survived the HH.
But this fluff was contradicted by Abnett when he wrote Prospero Burns (I don't know what he smoke that day). In Prospero Burns, Constantin Valdor did not travel to Prospero, did not fight the TS, etc. However, we don't know what he role he is going to play in Abnett's updated fluff. It is possible that he will be present during the Siege of Terra, do some cool stuff kicking the butt of heretics and daemons and then dies heroically defending the life of his Emperor.

I don't have any of my Arcani or Lore available at the moment, as they are in boxes for a house move, but I am pretty sure that Valdor was on route to Prospero in A Thousand Sons. I know Abnett doesn't mention Valdor in the Prosepro parts, but that doesn't mean he wasn't there.
Unless I am entirely incorrect in the regards to the Thousand Sons part

Read Thousand Sons again and Valdor is definitely with the Custodians on Prospero as he kills Phosis T'kar.

Well I emailed Mr Abnett - who is a legend btw - and he said they've not forgotten about Valdor and definitely have plans for him...
So all is well.

Hmmm, it sounds interesting. Maybe some heroic death in the name of the Emperor while trying to reach Terra? Maybe he survived the HH and, broken by the death of the emperor, disappeared with the loyalist primarchs?

Well, if Nemesis is after the events on Prospero then Valdor is back on Terra.
