A monstrous creature use 2 psychic shooting attacks in the same turn instead of firing any weapons( or one of each ect), so whats the point in the tyranid swarmlord's ability to use 2 psychic powers in one turn (because all of its psychic attacks are shooting attacks) and can it use the swarm leader ability while in combat onto say a squad of genestealers in a seperate combat that is within 18"

The part you are missing is MCs can shoot 2 ranged weapons per turn not use 2 powers per turn. So take a regular hive tyrant, he can use one psychic shooting power per turn and then shoot a regular gun, but not shoot 2 psychic powers. That his why the SL has that ability.

Yes many people make that mistake. As above, a mc psyker can only use one psa per turn even though it can fire 2 ranged weapons.

The special ability swarm leader can be used in combat as its not a psa.

oh ok i misread the rulebook saying that a mc can fire two weapons but may choose to replace one with a psychic shooting attack, it doesnt really say that one can fire two psa was wondering why they put that in there for the swarmlord, thanks

As the swarmlord inparticular can use 2 psychic powers per turn he is allowed to use 2 psa.

Only special rules like the swarmlords allow more than one psychic power (normal or psa) per player turn. I.e. the tervigon can have 3 psychic powers but can only ever use one per player turn.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

he is allowed to use 2 PSA per turn as he is a MC(which can fire 2 weapons)

the catch is that he can't use the same PSA twice in a turn because you arn't allowed to fire the same gun twice.

so he would have to use 2 different PSAs to do this.

Incorrect. Monstrous Creature has no bearing on how many psychic powers or psychic shooting attacks a model can make.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Not 100% Correct.

While being unit type "Monstrous Creature has no bearing on how many psychic powers"

Monstrous Creatures can in fact use two shooting attacks per turn.

If they are allowed to use two Psychic powers, they can indeed use 2 different PSA's because they are unit type Monstrous Creature (Because it replaces their shooting attacks)

Lenny's Fury, Yonush, and Deathreaper have it.

Monstrous Creatures can shoot two weapons.
Psykers can cast one power per turn.

Other special rules can change the above.
