Who do you think brings more to the table in terms of a DOA army? Obviously Dante has no deviation and H&R but Sanguinor brings 1A aura and can take some fire (which can help alleviate some from other squads) both have a debuff/buff respectively which are opposite things but to the exact same stats. Both are CC beasts and i am just looking for as much input as possible!

In my experience Dante's tactical precision is vital to drop in and remove something nasty like a demolisher or the like. And Dante can hide in a unit, not so for our friend the sanguinor.

Dante with his deathmask as well (if it can even be used) comes in at a cheaper cost and is more survivable due to being in a unit. Far better, but the Sanguinor looks so much cooler...

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

The snaguinor synergizes well with Vanguard as they drop in and assault he gives them more attacks. then afterwards you form a phalanx around him and column attack whats left of your opponent, add a chapter banner in here as well for epic lulz. However he's expensive and tends to get singled out A LOT. People see the big shiny sanguinor model and say "I want to kill it!"

I won't deny he's a stylish motherfether however

I have actually been hearing that they both go well in the same list but that is super expensive 500 for 2 guys

Faced it. Was pretty strong. Roughly:

Sang
Dante, leading squad of sanguinary guard tooled up with a sang priest AND a reclusiarch with power fist
10 assault marines w/th & ss sgt, 2x melta, sang priest
10 assault marines w/th & ss sgt, 2x melta
5-6 vanguard

Five characters, four squads. Not a lot of units, but packed with hitting power.

You're friend must have been using a chaplain not a reclusiarch as he already had his 2 hq choices other than that, his list is sort of similar to mine

Ive had great success with both the Sang and Dante.

Sang always seems to be a great distraction to enemy firepower, and greatly helps the masses the jumppackers i like to field for troops.

Dante on the other hand is nice cause i always run Sang guard, so having them count as troop is great along with the scatterless deep strike really can ruin an opponents day/ turn the tide of a battle.

Just want to add that I'm sure wanting to run both at the same time is great in some situations, but that's just too much of a point sink for me. Just my personal feeling on that.
