Odd question but a friend wants me to paint them an Amy Brown style Fey. I dont really want to delv into anything beyond the 30+mm scale. Anyone have any suggestions. I have looked at the Reaper Faries looking for something a little more dark. Anyone got an idea?

Cheers.

Hasslefree miniatures do some stuff like this, so does Free-booters miniatures by Werner Glock. There's also Dark Slave / Tale of War...they do some off the wall characters, and some that could be considered "Fairy" like.

Man down, Man down....

Checkout the Elves from Wargames Foundry...

And a good tip for making wings: get one of those butterflies spotter books from the library (the ones with paintings of butterflies work best) and do a colour photocopy of the pictures onto two sheets of assetate, cut out the same set of wings from both sheets, glue them together then onto the fairy figure. Gives you great set of gossamer looking wings and you will get around 30+ sets of wings on a sheet

The Otherworld Miniatures range (really great-looking models, IMO) has some fey. Here's a link to their 'wilderness encounters' section: http://www.otherworld.me.uk/weseries.html

These are also nice but perhaps not what you're looking for:

Awesome tip!

Assetate is the clear plastic we use for overhead projection slides?

Awesome sculpts. Do any major online retailers carry this range for cheaper int'l shipping?

Not that I know of. I have been contemplating an order for a while but there's so much goodness I can't decide what to get (plus I want to finish a few more models first). Orders over £75 ship free, though.

Particular favourites of mine are the kobold and goblin ranges--the kobolds are a little 'cuter' than WHFB stuff, but I think they could fit in some forces.

frpgames.com carries Otherworld Miniatures stuff.... Having ordered quite a bunch of stuff from them, I can vouch that they are a good place to go through.

I dont like the idea of fairy models but a disney army would be awesome.
