Note: almost everyone i play against is a gunline or semi-gunline

HQ:
Old Zogwort, 145pts
Big Mek w/ KFF and Power Klaw, 110pts

Elites:
15 Lootas, 225 pts
15 Lootas, 225 pts
15 Kommandos w/ 2x Burnas and Boss Snikrot, 265

Troops: (Squad count includes nob)
20 Ork boyz, Nob w/ PK, 2x Rokkit, 180pts
20 Ork boyz, Nob w/ PK, 2x Rokkit, 180pts
19 Ork boyz, Nob w/ PK, 2x Rokkit, 180pts
Deff Dread w/ 2x Skorcha, 85pts

Heavy Support
3 Killa Kanz w/ Kustom Mega Blastas, 165pts
Deff Dread w/ 2x Skorcha, 85pts
Battlewagon w/ Deff Rolla, Red Paint, Armor plates, Kannon, 4x Big Shoota, 155pts

The entire army marches formation. The big mek along with the 19 squad will be placed in the wagon at the center, the dreads and kans around it for the 4+ save, and the two footsloggin mobs will be arranged to get the 5+ save as well. Lootas will move for midfield cover, and snikrot will outflank and murder backfield shooting units which pose the most credible threat to my mob or AV units, depending on the situation. Zogwort gives me great chances of having a turn 1 waaagh or free deepstrike to assault range for one of my mobs.

I would suggest ditching the rokkits, as you can only fire them if your not moving... you don't want to stop moving. Use the points to give your foot sloggers more boyz.

Same thing goes with the battlewagon... if you move 7" (6") your only shooting 1 weapon. I would keep 1 Big Shoota just incase you get your Kannon KOed.

Since you have the rolla, you might want to consider 'Ard Case. Here are my thoughts behind it... Since you have a Deff Rolla you want to charge vehicles, moving as fast as you can (so your probably not even shooting). Meanwhile your going to be taking /alot/ of incomming fire... why give them a +1 on the damage charts for being open topped?

You might even want to consider a boarding plank so you can assault vehicles without leaving the battlewagon, specially since you gave the Mek a PK. Heh, give him an Attack Sqig even...

I have never had good luck with weirdboyz, and miss the Mad boy squads. If he doesn't work for you, could always replace him with another Big Mek with a KFF to protect the lootas or march with your foot sloggers. I would be interested on hearing how he works out for you (or others who post here)...

Good luck, army looks fun!

Rokkits are assault weapons! And damn great for freaking out your opponent, (when they blow a couple of things up they start to fear your shooting, which is hilarious). DONT DROP THEM!

Also, don't really see the point of a boarding plank unless you add 'Ard Case, which imo is still not worth sacrificing assault.

Also, IMO you don't have enough boyz in your squads, looks great though otherwise, very similar to my ork force, which is by far my most effective army.

Rokkits provide much-needed anti-armor. The Battlewagon is mostly my any-trick pony. It can ram a vehicle, it protects 20 boyz and an HQ, and if i don't have much to ram, once it drops off its crew it can sit around and shoot at everyone. With the rokkits i'm not hard pressed to use the deffrolla, but it's there as both a credible threat to make my consider think about whether to shoot kans or it, and as an option should my rokkits be busy in CC.

This is my major concern. Once mobs start taking losses, they're guaranteed to take even more. I'm worried 20 might not be enough to be strong by the time they make it to the enemy, especially if they're shoota boys.

Bolster the boyz at the expense of some lootas or komandos, and add bosspoles, trust me you'll regret it if you don't

Well, I'll be damned. All most all of their weapons are Assault weapons, I never noticed. I just got it in my head Big Shoot=Heavy Bolter and Rokkit=Missile Launcher. That will probably help my boyz out quite a bit! Thanks!

With assault troops you want to run not shoot Rokkit's that are mostly going to miss.
Drop 2 Big Shoota's on the Battlewagon. That will free up 70P. I would recommend dropping the KMB on the Killa kanz for Big Shoota's and the Deff dread your going to be running with them. I would then use the points from all of that on more Kanz, you want them for a Kan-ter assault list which is a Deathstar unit in a Battlewagon and Kanz too sheild boyz.

Kan-ter assault is my variant on the Kan wall which IMO is even better.

re: Lootas, i think i'll drop a bunch, as i 30 lootas is overkill.

re: KMBs on kanz, i very much like and need the plasma, especially against a friend who runs an all terminator wolf wolves army.

re: big shootas, you're right. I'm going to drop 2 or 3

re: rokkits, armor is the most serious threat to an ork army, imo. I need em

With respect to the good Inquisitor above, the rokkits are quite useful. I play against most BA, SW, and DE all of those armies come to you, you don't need to go to them, and shooting is the only way to bring down many of those vehicles. If you were up against Vanilla marines, Guard or Tau I might think differently.

Actually I agree on the KMB's, the kans will most of the time be running, even against assault armies, and are prefectly capable of taking our termies in HtoH (as are hidden PK on the nobs).

sidenote: my KFF mek is a kitbash using the backpack of a burnaboy and a shokk attack gun mek (the spinny bit is on top) and i'm currently working on giving him a servo powerklaw.

Ork conversions are always fantastic. They can be as stupid as you want and still fit the fluff.

Finally, a list that's not cookie cutter! Sounds like you have some good stuff there. I'd agree with those saying to make the boyz mobs bigger, though, if only so you still have plenty of boyz after the slog is done.

I know I love KMBs on my Kanz, but might I suggest KMBs on your Dredds too? Sure, it's not a guaranteed hit like the Skorchas, but it's still an Assault weapon, and with two of them, they're effectively a twin-linked Str8 AP2 weapon, with the possibility of doubled hits (if you're lucky). It's real fun when you manage to glance an opponent's two landraiders into submission on the first round with lucky shots.

If you're going with one weapon on the Wagon, why not another Rokkit? And with the Kannon's Str. 4 blast, it can be fired as a Defensive weapon, so you can (if you move only 7" with RPJ) fire both the Rokkit and the Kannon's blast. If you're feeling really funny, stick on a Wreckin' ball and a Boarding plank, so you can ram (d6 Str10) Klaw (Str 9) and Wreck (str8) enemy units/vehicles, then shoot them with the Str. 8 rokkit.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!
