New to them and i was wondering what lore i should be using for my beasts.

Beasts is probably the best choice to me. Needing 1 less for all buff spells to be cast on them is extremely useful (and with the signature spell being awesome) paired with some decent offensive spells, it's usually the most useful. If i have 2 casters, i'll usually grab shadow.

That's just how i do it though.

If you want to listen to a really interesting breakdown on Beastmen, check out the Bad Dice podcast (google that) about Beastmen. They have some guy who uses them in tournaments using Herdstone and a pile of low level casters to pour buffs into a big gor herd along with some other tricks. Really cool build and he has a lot of insights into the book.

No problem! It was a great podcast for me too, even though I don't run the BM, mostly because after reading the army book I was at a loss as to how to make them work. I really love alternate builds like that too.
