So a couple of months ago I bought myself the Lizardman Battalion with an interest of starting fantasy. 2 weeks ago I bought a stegadon.
A few friends have done the same, and we plan on making an 1000 point list each-I have about £25 to spend on something new (Probably a Slann)-I am asking for help on, well, almost everything fantasy. All I know is I want a magic themed army-I've made my ideal Slann already-

Slann w/
Focus of Mystery (Metal)
Focus of Mystery (Heavens)
Focus of Mystery (Life)
Higher State of Consciousness
Magic Items-Power Stone, Dispell Scroll-475 pts

But it's soo expensive. I am a 40k player too (just sayin')

well to be honest, you can't get a slann at 1000pts, as there is a percentage of your army total allowance toward your types of fillers and they break down like this:

up to 25% for Lords
up to 25% for Heros(yes that means 50% for a Hero and Lord)
at least 25% for Core
up to 50% for Speical
up to 25% for Rare

so at 1000pts

you can spend a max of 250pts for your Lords, and 250pts for Heros, 250pts must be for core, etc and so on.

its unlikely you will get any heros on that Stegadon, you might be able to get a Oldblood kitted out decently. you will want to take a few cheap priests to give you some form of Magic.

for magic heavy a list you might like:

Lord:
Tehenhaun
lvl 2 Wizard, Lore of Beasts

Hero:
2x Skink Priests
lvl 2 Wizard

Core:
Saurus Warriors(20)
Champ
Standard Bearer

Skink Skirmishers(10)


Speical:
Stegadon

Total: 999pts, so your 1 pt under, but this should give you a powerful magic phase, or drop the Lord and add whatever you deem fit.

Don't think you can take more than one Focus of Mystery. At least... I've never seen it tried.

can't take more than one focus of mystery nor can you take a power stone and dispel scroll its one or the other my friend
