Hi, I was going to field a power armoured libby but have since been given some pre heresy jump packs, I would like to use one on my librarian but i'm not sure how you would use him with one? so what are any benefits/disadvantages of having him with one and how would you play with him in game?

You give him a jump pack if you want him to hangout with a squad of jump-packers.

If you don't want him with a jump pack squad then don't give him a jump pack.

What he said.
Seriously, a Librarian jetting around on his own says three words to me: Easy. Kill. Point.
Putting him with an assault squad or other jump-pack equipped squad is expensive, but his odds of survival go way up.
Putting him in any other unit really begs the question of why does he have a jump pack anyway, since it's usually a waste of points.
Would fit in with Raven Guard & White Scars, though.

My Raven Guard librarian wears a jump pack but it's an all deepstriking army and he usually hangs out with the jump-packed honour guard.

I rarely field BA Librarians without jump packs.

How you play them in game? Well, if you're not attaching him to a squad, the jump pack gives him an extra 6" of movement so that he can be where he needs to be for the powers you want to use.

As Tavoittamaton said it would give him much more room to use his powers, so it depends on their power loadout. Most of the Vanilla Librarians attack powers are close-range ones, so those will likely benefit from a Jump Pack. Buff-type spells (like Gates of Infinity) probably will be better used on a more stationary unit, and so wont need a jump pack. One bit of advice: remember the Jump Pack adds alot more points to the Librarian, but doesnt make him any more durable (unlike Bikes, which do add more durability in the form of a toughness increase).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
