Possibly a dumb question, but can you buy upgrades for an upgrade character?

If the UC is allowed to by the text of the upgrades.

The only upgrades available for any character, unit or model are those listed in their entry in the army list.

You cannot ever give an upgrade which is not listed in that unit entry.

(the only exception to this is very old codexes which allowed certain models to buy upgrades from the armoury section but that ability to purchase from the armoury was noted in the army list entry)

He is a Unique character; as such they are normally presented "as is", eith usually no or very limited upgrade options. They are different to normal Upgrade characters who are usually offered a more "a la carte" offering.

You can ONLY buy the upgrades you are allowed to under the entry.
