So im a big fan of the Necron tomb stalker, or at least as a big of a fan one can be without actually owning one and would like to know, has anyone here ever fielded one? if so how did it do? His stats look good with basically all cc abilities possible included (fleet, hit and run, 2+ on the charge, etc.) But i would like to know how it preformed in-game All responses are appreciated.

I did once. It didn't work too well.

Badork Magthugs 2000Pts WAAAGH Wins: 23 Loses: 4 Draws: 4
Ork Tournament Wins: 2
Purge the Unclean 5000Pts Wins: 33 Loses: 7 Draws: 5

Castellan Crowe used to be good, then he took a Lascannon to the face.

The stalker is an awesome model with killer stats. I think it was introduced in an attempt to "fix" the necrons' deficiencies as an army - namely their lack of effective assault options. And on paper, it does just that. There are three major problems though. Firstly, it shares your heavy support slots with the only other unit keeping this outdated army alive - monoliths, or more specifically, the triple monolith build that so many necrons players are resorting to in order to stay competitive. Secondly, they're not worth sacrificing a monolith for because they aren't as resilient. And thirdly, any opponent with experience in fighting necrons knows they suck at assault - if there's suddenly a unit in your army that can bring it in close quarters, it's going to be target priority number one.

That said though, I'd still like to see a crons list spamming stalkers, wraiths and some pariahs go up against BA or 'nids. It would make for an interesting battle report.

As a Nid player as well, I found you can't field just one and expect it too live long, just like a Trygon or Fex. You need to field them in pairs, at least.

Off Topic: really? I have never failed to phase out Necrons by turn 4. I'd LOVE to face 3 monolyths.

Give me a meat grinder mission and i'd take you up on that

I rarely field more than one.

I've been known to field 100 warriors and a lord as a 2000 pt force though, so i'm rarely fielding an uber-competitive build

It is my understanding that the model was made as something "cool" with no particular aim for the rules behind it. I think it is just a coincidence that it ended up as an assault-oriented creature... "Hey, it's big, it's got a lot of sharp things on it... let's say it's good at assaulting?" "Ok sure"

That and it's mounting infanty guns on a huge beasty, so it had BETTER be good at CC
