Hey guys, I recently was sucked into the miniatures aspect of 40k, so I made the leap today and joined this site - and am already a bit shy - but wanted to thank the creators and moderators in advance, they clearly have done an excellent job.

I've very little experience of Warhammer40k in terms of the actual game and model construction/painting, so I'll most likely be something of a slowpoke to you experts (sorry!).
I mostly play here, north of San Francisco, with my friend who initiated me to the universe in friendly games using proxies for units and struggling to remember all the rules of engagement - we're stuck with, as far as I've heard, an outdated 3rd edition Rulebook (which we hope to upgrade soon!) and rag-tag units that we combine to form "armies".

After reading many of the novels of the genre, I've formed a particular bond with the Blood Angels (No, no, not trying to be a flavor of the month kind of person) and am seeking to build an army around that interest.

I guess that'll do for an introduction, seeking to avoid boring you to tears, so I'll call it there.
