I was tempted to drop a unit somewhere to get a few Reapers in, or to take it to 2000 points and get a unit of clowns in there aswell , and maybe Eldrad to top it off? but thought i'd try the list on here as is first.

Thanks in advance

Any eta on a new Eldar codex ? I'd hate to spend time and money buiding a force up for it to be outdated next year.

Hey, welcome to Dakka

This list needs a bit of work though i think.
From your comments i'm fairly sure you haven't played with this yet (or 40k at all?) So its quite hard to get a decent list there immediatly.

First things first, your list isn't focused. You have some footsloggin units and 2 tanks (transports)
You either want to go all mechdar, or footdar.

So your options, for footdar, drop the farseers, the banshess, the wave serpents, maybe the warlocks. Add in Avatar and Eldrad. Storm Guardians don't really work in footdar though. War Walkers and Wraithlords are good. Guardians with Bright Lance or Scatter Laser (near avatar, so they are fearless). You can then add things like Scoprians, Harelquins for some extra assault power.

For mechdar (which doesn't really fit Ulthwe as much i don't think) you need all units in wave serpents, you can use war walkers, but Fire Prisms or Falcons with 5 DA work. Storm Guardians with 2 flamers and destructer warlock are nice, or Dire Avengers.

I'm not an experianced Eldar player (only played Duel Seer Council on bikes, which is quite good, but its almost auto win/lose in most games, so isn't always that fun) So someone else will probably give you some better advice soon, but i think that covers the basics and should give you a better idea on how to build your army.
New codex, well it might be out next year, but seemingly Necrons, Tau, SoB, Templars all definatly being done before, I think you will be fine starting your Eldar army now.

The trouble with Ulthwe' is it's full of second rate psykers...

I get your theme, and I did it in fact under the old codex and the craftworld addition. That type of army is really... really hard to play atm for a few reasons.

1.) Warlocks are expensive in comparison to what they do and how they stack up vs. well anything else out there. Farseers have a limited range compared to other psykers. Eldrad is too expensive imo, that might be just me.

2.) Secondly you can mount them all on jetbikes.... but that turns really expensive really fast.

3.) Honestly (and it's sad to say) the only effective way to play Eldar is a mech variation. Wave serpents full o Dire Avengers, Vyper squadrons, Prism Tanks, ect. Farseers are good for augmentation but their role is limited, don't depend on them. The avatar is a BEAST but in a mech army he tends to get left behind some what.

4.) ..... Forget those Xeno scum! Serve the Emperor and you shall be rewarded!

Thanks for the thoughts, I guess I'll have a look at more mech and less warlocks then, see how it turns out.
