We can definitely help you create "A" list out of these units, but as you said you are probably going to need to buy more things to make a successful list. You also need to make a judgement yourselves on what you want your army to play like and what themes you enjoy. Do you want a khorne infantry army? Do you tend more toward psychic abilities? Do you like a lot of strong vehicles or enjoy large infantry assaults? Etc... Do you really want to use your Independent characters (fabius and abaddon)? Or is it ok to leave them out since they are rather expensive and might be better off using other HQ choices.
You could make a basic army around:
HQ:
1 Chaos lord (maybe using abaddon's model if your opponents allow it) - either stripped down with maybe just a combi-melta or with a daemon weapon + mark for more theme goodness(the khorne DW is especially nasty but comes with the regular khorne risk)
Troops:
2x squads of 8 khorne berzerkers (7+champ) /w power fist on champ in a rhino (obviously you'll need at least one more rhino, and probably more the bigger your army gets) remove the havoc launcher and TL bolter (they look cool but are not great in a real game unless you need tons of template weapons because you're spamming lash of submission or something). The plasma pistols are almost always a bad idea on berzerkers.
1x-2x squad of 10 csm (9+champ, could be cut down to 8 total /w Icon of Khorne to be khorne-themed) /w power fist, 2x melta, and rhino transport
Heavy Support:
1x Defiler - I prefer using a reaper autocannon on the defiler so if my main weapon is knocked out I still have the capacity for moving + shooting, albeit much weaker, maybe a flamer for some up close burning. Defilers really work much better in pairs because they are such large targets though so you'd need another one and they're expensive.
The possessed and terminators are really not things I use too often. Possessed are just too expensive and a bit random for what they end up doing. They are great for taking punishment and make solid melee combatants, but they are so costly that you are usually better served by taking plague marines and khorne berzerkers. for infantry options. Terminators are solid choices in small "termicide" squads for deep striking in quickly and dishing out some pain to infantry squads, but I find the points better spent in our better categories (HQ/Troops/Heavy support).
Noise marines are kinda in the same boat. They are a lot of fun, and that can mean more than any stat line, but I personally find them to be a bit expensive when properly kitted out for what they can do. Great against certain armies and the sonic blasters/blast masters are great weapons, but their point cost is just too high in most cases.
Abaddon is just too expensive for your 1500pt maximum list. He's a powerhouse but almost requires a land raider to transport him which makes him even more expensive. Fabius is one of our only force multiplying HQ choices. He can turn regular csms into monstrous soldiers, but he can also cost you a bunch of troops if you roll poorly. Double-edged sword that makes chaos what it is, but it also makes it a somewhat risky thing to take. Can be a lot of fun, and fabius is a solid fighter himself.
You do have a lot of options though thanks to count-as. You could easily have some plague marines by modeling them to be extra nurgley and using the icon of nurgle. You could throw some of the possessed wings onto the csm and have raptors. Same thing with csm + spikey bits + khorne icon for some more khorne berzerkers if you need em. All you need to make some chosen csm are some regular csm and add some medals and symbols and give them special weapons(melta/etc).
You're definitely going to need more rhinos almost no matter what you decide to go with. You'll also probably want to buy something to fill in your heavy support slots because they are very valuable to any good csm general. Maybe some oblits, or havocs (can be made with regular csm + missile launcher/autocannon bits), or another defiler if you really like them.
Good luck, hope this helps.
