Gentlemen,

Id like your views and experience on how to thwart magic.

Im going to trial 1 AL on WA with 2 WPs for a +4 DD (2k list).

Have you tried this or similar? +4 DD will mostly give me more DD then my opponents PD, but ofc no +4 to cast.

For the price of a level 4 I can get 2 WPs well equipped.

I know im sacrificing my own offensive magic, but I still get all those prayers, which has soulfire like a magicmissile in combat. Nice.

Any Light lore spell on a 5
3 attempts for +4 ward
3 x unbreakable
3 x healing
Hatred
2 x Magic missiles..should all get something through in my phase!

Please share

A AL on a war altar is my staple. I sometimes also add a WP. The +3 dispel dice is actually very good for defensive purposes. In addition, I usually get a level 2 mage, either with the channeling staff (additional dice on a 5-6), or the staff of sorcery (+1 to dispel). I personally like the channeling staff, as it may also add a power die to your pool if you roll well. I do also see the value of the rod of power, but I find myself usually using all the dice in my pool. With the random dice generation, magic phases usually see you lacking dice...

at 2000 if you're careful with your items you can cram in a speculum pope AND a level 4 with a dispel scroll. This is the way I normally go.

You can't go wrong with the popemobile.

Looks like a strong magical defence. I would swap out a WP for a lvl2 wizard with dispel scroll for added defence if it's a big thing for you.

Expect my posts to have a bazillion edits. I miss out letters, words, sometimes even entire sentences in my points and posts.

Cheers guys, Im liking the idea of swapping out a WP for a lvl 2. A level 2 and 3DD is a hefty proposition. Perhaps overkill, but should really deny especially poorer winds of magic rolls
