Had a mini-argument with a friend last ngiht and i'm not 100% sure who is right.


He was stating that, in the SM Codex, the demolisher cannon is listed as Ordnance, Barrage; while everyone else has it as just Ordnance. I pointed out that this was corrected as a mis-print in an official GW FAQ online.

He countered that he has not seen the FAQ and has to go by what is in the codex so surely it has to count as Ordnance, Barrage.

Thoughts? If this came up in a tourney and someoen was unaware of the FAQ, woudl the rulign go my way or his?

I think i am right in saying that, if he tried to fire a Barrage from a Vindicator, i may have to slap him.

I carry copies of the FAQ to tournaments for all armies, just in case i need it. The TO will likely also have them.

For friendly games print off a copy and give it to him.

It is listed as Barrage, but that is a typo and it is countered in the FAQ. I guess he can choose to ignore the FAQ deliberately. If you called a judge over they no doubt would say it is not barrage. Heck, you can probably have someone with a smartphone look it up for him. At this point after he has been informed, choosing not to look at the FAQ is willful ignorance of the rules and for all intents cheating.

It would go your way. Ignorance of the rules doesn't allow you to ignore them.

I have sent a link of the GW FAQ site to his phone and also downlaoded all the PDFs to my smartphone. Let him argue now!
