I'm actually curious to see if anyone has both the Throne of Judgement model and a Chaos defiler for a size comparison? If so I would love if someone could post a pic of these two next to one another. I have this idea for a Word Bearers defiler with the throne on top of the defiler (in place of the main turret) and a CSM seated in the throne. I want to know if this would even work, size-wise. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

I have seen the Throne a few times. It's roughly the same size as a Dreadnought, so it would look probably look quite small on a Defiler body. It would also lack the really big gun the Chaos machine brings on the table.

But it does sound like a fantastic idea.

On a side note, you commented on an image gallery of mine yesterday and a couple today. Wanted to let you know I appreciate it. As for the beak on the Lord of change, it would be an actual beak not so much a "mask." I've been fiddling with that model, which is long overdue, but the wings keep giving me issues. And that pack on the Nurgle dude is an old GW skaven bit from a poison wind globadier.

You should definetly keep a dream like THAT alive. I just love the idea and have a few ideas in my head that are equally insane.

Here's a thought: does it have to count as an Defiler? There are other huge machines out there that might work. Some of the Forgeworld Khorne engines perhaps? It would probably make more sense for your Word Bearer whats-his-face priest commander thingy to get more close and personal, with Dreadnought CC weapons and flamers instead of a battle cannon.

Too bad you couldn't get your hands on those Hellboy Angel of Death wings. Those sure would look sweet on a Tzeentch model.

Yeah those wings would've been perfect, if not for the size. And I appreciate you not necro-ing my dead threads. Seems to upset some people. I do plan to keep this sort of idea in mind. It could def work for things other than just a defiler. Certainly some form of dread....well, I guess there's only one type of chaos dread, which is sorta weak.

The way I see it, you have two problems:
Getting a Space Marine to fit on that throne and finding the right unit to use it as. And as I've said before, the cannon would be hard to replicate. You might want to look into the Soul Grinder rules instead.
All those scrolls and torches would probably work pretty well though.

Well, I figure the robed lower torso works for a Word Bearer and I would just GS the cloth around the waist section of the WB's power armor. Then add some spikey or chaosy bits to the guys on the sides. Still not sure about the demolisher cannon though. But could run it as a counts as soul grinder or dred.

Except that Chaos Dreadnoughts suck.

You could use the rules for the Forge World Contemptor Dread. Or, something you'd need your opponents permission for, some sort of Chaplain Dreadnought. I think Forge World has rules for those too.

Not a bad idea. I know chaos dreads are terrible. But as I've said, this wouldn't be for a long time. I'm a slow painter with a lot of unpainted minis. So, it would be awhile before I can justify spending over $100 for a counts as dread. Besides, by the time I would get around to it, 6th edition and a new Chaos codex would probably be out.
