Do you think my recent kitbash is adequately unique enough for a "counts as" Abaddon in a tournament?
He was obvious a chaos lord in a previous life but between the daemon head and huge sword I don't think people would have an issue. BTW I hate topknots.

Needs a base
Otherwise nice work, if painted well, there should be no problem.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Yeah I haven't decided how to base him yet, but he will have the appropriate base. Even think I'm going with the black and gold color scheme to eliminate any confusion.

Looks like you have the talons of horus but i cant really see. Can you post a pick of what his lightning claw looks like.
Really if he has a lightningclaw and a daemonblade he is almost certainly Abbadon.

The only thing you're missing is the Twin-linked Bolter on the back of his Talon (or, if you wish, the back of his other fist). If you've got a Grey Knight player in your area he'd probably have a spare Storm Bolter you could use, if you're not comfortable chopping up your own bolters to make it.
I made an Abaddon model out of the Terminator Lord as well, and I haven't had any problems. The fact that you can't have any other model armed like that in the Chaos book makes it pretty clear who he is supposed to be as well.

Apart from the fact that the weapons are the wrong way around, I don't see any issue. The base could be argued as modelling for advantage (since he doesn't come with the rock segment that could potentially give him a higher vantage point), but you'd have to be a dick to argue it.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

That's a ridiculous argument. One: True line of sight works both ways. He can see easier and been seen easier. Two: The kit bash is made using the plastic Chaos Lord kit which comes with that rock outcropping. Along your line of thinking then, all plastic Chaos lords are being modeled for advantage, in which case, refer back to point one.

+1. Though I wouldn't use a filthy GK bit. Put together to spare bolt pistols and clip to fit.
My only negative view of the model is a personal one. I hate that head. The powerfist also isn't a powerclaw, which may spark some problems with the WYSIWYG-nazis. Other than that, good work.

Did you not read the end of the section you quoted? The part about only dicks arguing that you're modelling for an advantage?
As ridiculous the argument might seem, you will get ridiculous players who will try and call you out on it, but again, they'd have to be a dick to do it.

It took me a really long time before I found a head I liked. Think I'm going to paint him like GW's Daemon Prince example. Red and black head.

He's adequately different form the rest of the models and wearing TDA. I cannot see anyone having a problem wih it unless the tourney prohibits ounts-as.

Not a fan of the head, but I dislike any model not wearing their helmet (personal OCD moment) but if you were my opponent and he is painted similarly to Abaddon and has what appears to be a large claw like fist and a daemon blade, then he is Abaddon.
