Depending on weapon layout you can squeeze 11 Dreads into a tourney legal list. Assuming you have 5 walk on you could also have all 11 show up on turn 1, with the remaining empty pods arriving periodically to contest objectives.

It is as you said, a very silly blood angels list. Not sure what you want people to do with it really...

Wargear/weapon options?
So you drop a wave of melta Dreads turn one and then the CC dreads come in peice meal after that? With that many dreads i think this could be pretty effective, unless you whiff royally on that first turn drop.

6 Dreadnaughts in turn 1. I hope you plan on going second so you know where to put your melta dreads to be most effective. I thought about making a similar list with vanilla space marines using 6 dreads. I think 11 dreads is over kill though. I hope your list works for you. You should post how it does. I'll be looking forward to seeing it do well.

Why would he need to go second? The drop pods come down turn 1 after deployment.

to mitigate the circumstance where the opponent holds everything in reserve.

In dawn of war scenarios droppod armys have to go second or the droppods will not very effective, because of the fact only 2 troop choices are on the board first tun. Plus what deuce said about opponents reserving everything.
