I don't think the lord on foot adds much, I feel you will probably get more out of either making the warrior units larger or alternatively getting some immortals.

I guess you're right, the enemy would probably be firing their weapons that would negate WBB on the wraiths and D. Lord, I just kept him there to make sure a steady line of fire is supporting the wraiths. So maybe something like this then?

Necron Lord -100
-D. Body, Ressurection Orb, Phase Shifter, Warscythe -210

5x Immortals- Total: 350

3x Wraiths- 123
3x Wraiths- 246

Looks good to me. Someone more strategically insightful can tell you if it is worth combining the warriors into two units and whether there is any value in dropping a few warriors to get mote immortals.

Happy to help.

You could, instead of the Immortals have a second Monolith (taking away a squad of Warriors, 2x10 is enough, although you will have to add in some warriors to get to 1500 points)
Then at 1750, add the Immortals back in, or a 3rd Monolith. (if you ever play 1750 that is...)

I do kinda like the idea of the 2nd Monolith, and the reactions of my friends to possibly fielding two of them. Ill definately try that out sometime.

I would drop the immortals and one squad of warriors. Then use the points to buy a second monolith. If I recall correctly, that will still leave you with 91 points.

The reasons for this are -
1) With fewer warriors it will force your opponents to deal with your monoliths and wraiths (As they can't force a phase out without doing so)
2) The second monolith will make your army much more flexible.
3) Remove units that weren't really adding much to the army.

Now, as for those last 90 points, I would probably add in a Tomb spyder and then the remaining point on a few more warriors for the warrior squads. If you did so, the list would look something like this -

****HQ - 210****
Necron Lord
- Destroy Body
- Phase Shifter
- Resurrection Orb
- Warscythe

****Troops - 396****
11x Warriors
11x Warriors

****Fast Attack - 369****
3x Wraith
3x Wraith
3x Wraith

****Heavy Support - 525****
Monolith
Monolith
Tomb Spyder

Total = 1500

The reason for adding the tomb Spyder would be to give your warriors a little more flexibility, as now if one squad is wiped out, they will be able to just join with the other squad (Assuming the Spyder is close by).

Keep the two monoliths near is the wraithwing, if they drop and don't get back up, pull them through the portal. 3+ armor 3++ invuln, then a 4+ WBB followed by another 4+ WBB. Good luck keeping them down, and it will allow you to charge over and over again with the wraiths.

Hope it helps!

That looks like a really good list! Probably as hard as necrons get now.

Ill have to get my hands on a tomb spider and 2nd monolith then, I like the look of that list. Thanks for the help all. Also a thought, if i turbo boost my wraiths and D. Lord couldn't I deep strike the Lith near them?

I would avoid it, but I have horrible luck with my Monoliths deepstriking when I play my crons. I would suggest letting it move up the field. Just make sure to keep one model of each of the wraith units within 18" of it to use it's ability. Even with the 24" turbo boost movement, if you count the 6" movement of the lith, you should still have it unless they moved away from each other o_O

Amanax, what would you suggest adding in at 1750? I think, just add Immortals (I like that list, and i might use it If i can get the wraiths).

But, i have never understood this, why do they get WBB twice?

If models in a unit fail their WBB rolls, they can teleport through the monolith to get another roll. It's essentially a Robot Hospital.

I somehow missed that.
Wraiths are pretty hard to kill. Shame they aren't all that wonderful in combat, but i suppose you can't have everything.

Its also a shame you can't field them in squads of more than 3. Ho hum, bring on the new codex.

Well, I would probably drop the tomb spyder, add in another monolith and then fill in the gaps.

I <3 Monolith spam. So useful, and difficult to drop.

Also, any ideas on toning this down into maybe an 1000 point? Id like to try that out as the games I play with my friends are usually around that mark.
