im playing my mate im playing BA and im started with nothing on the table and he believes its not allowed as ur spose to have something starting on the board.

Yes you can start the game with no units on the board. In fact daemons cannot even start with units on the board.

There is a rule that on page 90 that may have confused him. That rule says that if you have no units on the board at the END of the game then you automatically lose. Having no units on the board during the game is not a problem.

Starting with no units on the board is a useful strategy against many armies.

Perfectly legal, but risky tactic.

If you can deep strike your entire army, it's worth doing a couple times to say you did. If you just try to walk them all on, be really careful. I was next to a game the other week where somebody did that and their opponent jetbiked their way to their starting edge and won in 2 turns.
