Greetings fellow dakkites ( is that even a word?). After years of Rahing for Games Workshop, I've had enough after this weeks news of price hikes and draconian policies and decided to fight for the Motherland. Asides from the Khador starter box, which contains a caster whom I"ll never use ( Sorcha, what happened! D where is a good place to start with Khador?

Ah, you mean the Assault Kommando guy? Our newest one who isn't released is Haverich and no one knows what he does yet. As for Strakhov, I'm honestly not quite sure. A word of warning though, the assualt Kommandos themselves are not the best thing you could get for him. While they can put out a high volume of attacks you'd probably be better off with a unit of Iron Fang Pikeman or a full allotment of Winter Guard Infantry with...well...everything. I'd suggest checking the Privateer Press forums for more detailed help. What I can say now is that the Wardog is usually a staple in most lists and the widowmakers are not too shabby either.

From the starter box, you can get a group of Widowmakers that gets you up to 15 points. It gives you some fierce "plink" damage for taking down opposing infantry models.

As for the new caster, nothing much about him has been released yet, but from looking at his charecter jack and fluff, he looks like he will be a jack heavy caster. If he is, I plan on getting him as nothing bring a smile to my face like a rumbling wall of red fury

As of now I"m planning

Strahkov: Torch Jack and Spriggan

Man 'o'war Demo Korp
widowmakers
Winterguard Rifle Korp
Wardog.

Those Man-O-Wars will die fast, you may consider something to screen them so they can engage in melee. They have deccent armour, but when they're the only thing that wants to get in melee on the field it'll be easy to prioritize targets for your opponent.

I thought about throwing occulation upon them, but I see your point. I could always replace the riflemen with Doom reavers for the lulz.

Yeah, it's not just shooting, but melee you'd have to worry about. Honestly, I don't really know though. I don't run strakhov >_>

I used to play Khador in mark 1 running epic butcher with Man'o'war demo corp and they seemed to smash face. However, from what I understand alot has changed in this edition so perhaps I'm incorrect.

pVlad is always fun.

I would suggest Great Bears over Demo Corps.

Occulated Great Bears should be a ton of giggles.

If you're unsure about Demo Korps, there are always the regular Shocktroopers...

Also, there is word that the Man o' War may get a plastic kit soon, so it may be a better idea to wait and see before purchasing a full metal unit.

Great Bears are a good idea, but they WILL die if your opponent can get the charge against them. I've found that this is the easiest way to take out the Bears - charge them/shoot them up before they reach you. Stealth doesn't keep your opponent from charging them, it just means that any shots from over 5" away will automatically miss.

I've found that Strakhov tends to like things with Reach, due to his feat. He's not all that great at pulling the assassination off himself, but if you can get an open charge lane, a Spriggan to the face will usually wreck someone's day.

Less "may," more "confirmed by Jen Ikuta and shown off in NQ."

The Men o' War are definitely getting a boost come Wrath, by the by, as the Mechanik UA allows his unit to repair Man o' War models. And you thought that ARM 21 unit was hard to kill already...

The Spriggan is an especially nice choice with Strakhov due to Bulldoze letting it push pesky intervening models out of the way. Beast-09 competes rather well with it, of course, due to Thresher and Murderous, but you can only take 1 Beast-09, and Spriggans are FA:U.

Laughing Man: Nice! I didn't know about the Mechanik UA's rules... looking forward to seeing that in action.

Thank god, I hated the metal hammers on the Demo Corp, they just bent and made me a sad panda.

Personally, I like Beast and the Behemoth with Strackhov. Torch is on my to get list though soon though, just for general use.

The Sprig is out for me until it gets a new model. I really can't stand the current one.

First off Jacks
You want one or two on Strakhov
You need the Heaven Piercing Spear/Unleash the beast part the name refers to two reach jacks Spriggan and the Beast 09 this is our jack that have the longest threat range
then you need Overrun targets, to trigger the spell
You need something that kills both infantry and jacks here I would get Devastator or Torch

Then you buy your supporting infantry
then you could read the Strakhov Flowchart, it does work

So far
500 point of
750 point of

Just as a fact Beast-09 is probably the best Jack in our faction at the moment.

I actually switched over to E Sorscha, I just..really like her model, and the whole ice theme with her.

For my two jacks I am going to be running a devastator and the Beast 09. Though the devastator can be switched out with a Spriggan. I don't really like what they did to the Kodiak, the new chain attack just..feh..I don't care for it.
